I watched the game and there was no game style being worked on for AFL purposes, they simply don't have one that's effective at the moment. Like the look of the big bloke Subi have up forward, he's gonna be a handful all year for opposition me thinks.

Did notice a couple of tall African looking lads in Subi gear at qtr time huddles, reserves or colts players by the looks. Any Subi folk care to educate me as to where they are from and how they are progressing with their footy. Genuine question as always good to see players from different backgrounds playing and hopefully bringing excitement to our game.

DW..we've had big Dave Madut with the club for a couple of years now and he would be playing as our number 1 ruckman except hurt his knee a few weeks ago. Is still a few weeks away before he comes back. He's part of a programme the club has with Sudanese players which will turn into something positive with a bit of luck.

Cheers BC....have been working in Mirrabooka lately which I have previously described as being like a war zone. Let's hope some amongst the numerous Sudanese lads in the area can take to footy and keep themselves outta trouble. Great initiative by Subi

The attendance has been posted at 3,000. I'm sure this match last season attracted more spectators? However if 3 thou turn up to each of the other 3 matches, it will be great number for the entire round.

It was a good day all round for me. My 29yo daughter came to the game with me for the first time in years. I indoctrinated her early as a toddler and she used to come every week but as she's got older she now plays netball on Saturday arvos but the season hasn't started yet so came along today. Then went into the Subi office before the game to renew my membership as I tried 3 times on-line but it wouldn't go through for reasons unknown. Got the business done today and was astounded by the number of people paying for membership, buying merchandise and generally getting on board. I had to go back to the office at half time to get a lanyard and without a word of a lie..it was 10 deep at the counter. So good signs all round. The biggest selling item I could see going off today was the back-to-back T shirts and polo shirts....bloody fantastic but I think I'll wait for the back-to-back-to-back. ;-)

And to top it off we won a tough hard fought game against the royal e-girls filth. It doesn't get any better than that.

Mate went to south Adelaide v Glenelg today. Told me they had 9000. Obviously that's not official

Renewed as a country member online during the week and renewed my daughters junior membership, she's been watching the postman waiting for her goodies to arrive. Better value with the memberships this year with free entries and bar credit pre-loaded onto the cards.

Another tough game but a great result by a committed team group. Conditions were oppressively humid, dripping with sweat just sitting in the stand with zero breeze, but as BC mentioned there was a slight breeze to the northern end at ground level, how these guys managed to run the game out is a testament to their preparation. First half we were in control, WART were doing a very heavy flood but we managed to find a way through it, meant we were taking more long shots than usual which may explain the inaccuracy. Dylan Clarke is a ripper, probably weighs 65k's dripping wet but puts his body on the line and has those silky left footer skills, a couple of his goals were sensational and from long range. Kennedy was doing a great job on Wulff who always racks up 3 or 4 goals against us but kept him goaless and 15 touches. Wulffy was getting very frustrated and dealt with him late in the first for our first of many blood rules, then in the second I think, dealt with him behind play which cost them a goal.

The 3rd qtr was very strong for the filth, they ran really hard and our guys looked gassed, got 4 Goals to one on us to got within a few points but a late goal eased the margin a bit. Mention of Cockie in the 3rd qtr, his efforts reduced the Ferals impact with his brutal attack on the ball and strength at the contest, made several clearances with a couple of guys hanging off him and some of his tackling was scary awesome, but as others have said he was blowing hard at 3/4.

Really concerned at 3/4 as they looked like they had heaps more in the tank than us which is understandable with 13 fulltime pro's in the team. they challenged hard for 20 minutes got back within 4 points then there was that great tackle and the great running goal and they just stopped, allowing us to kick the next 3 or 4 goals like it was a training run. Must be terribly frustrating for the EP faithful to see that sort of lack of commitment as it seemed all the AFL lads put the cue back in the rack when it got too hard, very similar to the '14 GF.

Best for me were Kitchen, Phez, Dylan Clarke, Horse, Cockie, Kennedy, Robbo, Lockyer again against much bigger opponents, Dela & Clang also against Johnson and the AFL monsters and a mention of Jackson who ran hard all day, rebounded well and did credit to the #23 jumper, but a real solid team effort.

Big test next week against Joondy up at Joondy, always a full on committed WAFL team, hoping for fine cool clear day.

Haha junior that's hilarious, they accuse you of school boy stuff than it appears he's run off to the headmaster to have a big sook. Obviously he's not as good at taking it as he is with giving it the the poor little darling.

I had great hopes when we heard that the original elec scoreboard was being upgraded, I was excited at the possibility we may have got a nice set up like the taxpayer funded one at Rushton paddock, but alas it was not to be, just a similar looking set up that is perhaps 30% to 40% bigger than the postage stamp one we had before. Supposed to be a clearer format and shone out well on a very dark and gloomy day, but lets see how it stands up on a sunny late Saturday arvo.

Great to see some spectator facilities in the outer for a change, 3 or 4 food vans and a pop up bar behind the northern goals which was very well populated, good to see so many making sure they kept their fluids up on such an oppressive day.

Like BC I noticed the queue out the door at the club office which is great to see, I got my membership a week or so ago, pre-loaded with bar dollars, great value. The clubrooms were packed, probably a lot to do with people seeking some relief in the air-conditioning.

Had a group of Irish people sitting behind us for their first look at the great game live and they loved it especially the physical stuff, constantly making comparisons to the Gaelic game re the pace, tackling, high marking, size and shape of the pitch and closely following Paddy Brophy's exploits. Great stuff.
