agree to disagree on Lycett SS..I think WART will want to get some match time into him when he's fit in case they need him in the AFL finals.

Chop I just assumed they gave him the extra week off after the concussion. But to be brutally honest, he's given little since mid season and we now have 2 gun small forwards in Deluca and Halligan who are really doing the job alongside Boland, Wood, Dela etc and Garcia is playing really well and hitting the scoreboard in the 2's, so at the moment in his current form I don't see him in our best 22.

Pretty clinical effort yesterday only marred by inaccurate goal kicking again, EF had nothing apart from significant sniping particularly against Mena, which maybe you can understand but that bloke Schoefield is a nasty piece of work and took the run-with role way past the point of fairness, but in the end it did have some effect on Mena's game. I didn't see who polaxed Kitchen behind play just after Haligan kicked our 1st goal, but the umps must have seen it as the kick was paid after Kitch came off with the blood rule, so expect to see a report and a few weeks holiday for the perp.

With Mena being relatively quiet, Phez stepped up to be our best along with Horse, Kitch, Robbo, Clang, Dela, but really another solid team performance

Plus Waters, he was really extending himself running yesterday, although only in a straight line so not sure how far away he is but he is definitely in my best 22

Waters is a quality player but will have very little game time if any before the finals, who would you drop from Saturdays team to make way, remember he's a forward with an occasional run on the ball. Not sure I'd be dropping any of Deluca, Halligan or Wood. If he gets fit he'd need a couple of good hitouts in the 2's before being considered. After a long break Mahoney played 1 in the 2's then league on the weekend and looked like he really needed the run, just an average game but that's to be expected.

Yep its going to be tough for him but if he plays magoos next week & plays a blinder then who knows. Hard to leave out an experienced classy one touch player. Its also hard to drop anyone from yesterday only really Feathers, Blech & Moore could be considered but we see who (if anyone) fails to stand up against bigger bodied full time athletes next week. Then we also have the problem of fitting in Wortho, Yaz, Heal, Le Fanu, Latham & possibly Bestry.

DG,you forgot to add Garcia to that list.A dangerous forward who applies great defensive pressure as well, similar to Deluca who impressed on the weekend with his disciplined approach.Yarran is under pressure to keep his spot,he hasn't been in good form for some time now.Moore was terrific against EF with his slick and effective use of handball and he has been solid now for several weeks.I don't see him as being a fringe player anymore or being under pressure to keep his spot.Wortho is the player I would love to see back.Class performer and big game player who has been there before.Who can forget his super GF effort after coming back from injury and on a very limited amount of game time.LeFanu and Heal have performed well in their games but are mostly defenders and Wortho might be just ahead of them in my opinion. Then again,I don't know how bad his calf injury is.Going to be a super strong reserves side this week no doubt.Go Subi.

Yes Mudlark Garcia, he is hitting good form as he was early in the season before injury. Didnt take him long either. I would try to sqeeze him in vs ferals but not sure how? Moore was amongst our best vs ef but I want to see how he goes with the ferals. I think Hoskins is no longer is a fringe player.

Will be worth getting there early to watch the 2's which will be chock full of players with league experience, they need to win to take 2nd spot off Swans who have the bye and hopefully get home ground advantage first week of the finals, although with Swans likely to have teams in the finals in all three grades, it's a lottery as to who gets the home ground in the minor grades. Seems that the league elim final will be Swans v Wart, the ressies is definitely Subi v SD and if as expected Cl beat WP in the colts it will be SD v Peel in the colts so a real raffle as to home ground advantage in the minor grades as it's a tough call to split clubs support staff up between 2 venues. Would think that if SD play in the league elim final it has to be at Leedo so their other grades will be slotted in there giving our reserves the rightful home ground advantage if we finish second. Peel colts will play in the qual final v probably Swans so they can play the early game at Leedo then plenty of time to get their support staff up to Joondy for the league game. That seems the only workable arrangement to me.
