How fortuitous, and dare one say convenient, the all conquering Subiaco losing yesterday!

Joondy started the 1st strongly but about half way through we got right on top & I was thinking this is gonna be a belting. Kichin had it on a string & Menegola was everywhere Boland looked like he was never out. Joondy looked almost disinterested but they were forced into a fair bit of panic due to our hard pressure. Bill must have said something right because after that things turned right around. Joondy controlled the 2nd with man on man tactics van berlo put the brakes on Menegola, keunan started to dominate Madut. Kichin was still lively but most of the others dropped off considerably along with joondys up in tempo. 3rd was bad no value for effort let down by dropping easy grabs or missing the target, behind after behind. 4th we dominated was locked in our 50 for the first 15 min with no value the boys worked really hard Boland & Halligan took some great grabs but just couldn't find the big sticks. Woody had a great qtr from half back. Kennedy probably played his best game, Horse isn't far away from his best & Boland showed good signs first game back strong hands. 5.15 don't win you many games Joondy were very good that was a must win game for them given all of the circumstances involved & good on them for getting up & hopefully attract a lot more fans from it. To be honest I walked away a little pissed as I hate losing, especially to joondy but I wonder can they play any better than they did today?

Thanks for that DG - I couldn't get to the game and won't be able to for the next month. It would be good if someone could do a summary each game and keep myself and others who can't attend updated.

Good to see Boland back but Twommey is a huge loss ???

Who played on Yarran ? I thought he played ok last week against the Tiggers.

No problem Chopper I'll keep you posted while you're away. Twomey is one of our best as you know, probably as important to us as Adams is to joondy. Adams stitched Yaz up & is no doubt one of the best not playing AFL.

didnt get to the game as my son was in hospital but followed it on the WAFL app. bloody disappointing to lose to that garlic infused rabble. for mine, Yaz has not fired a shot since the state game and could be in for a wake up call in the 2s if he doesn't start showing a bit more desperation. i also think this points situation may be a distraction...not sure..but it can't be a good thing. hopefully we'll bounce back against FART.

Yes all the best for you lad BC.

I missed the game as well as had a function the get to. listened a bit on 91.3, good coverage by that station.

5.15 was a continuation of our shocking goal kicking this season, we are the most inaccurate team in the comp and have got away with until this game by our defense being the best in the league. The defense was good again when you consider keeping a team to just 55 points but our attack was so dysfunctional particularly in their execution.

Commentators said it was a fair bit to do with Joody pressure when Billy switched to a solid man on man game plan that stifled our run and spread but also mentioned that many of the missed shots were from set shots so pressure not so much of an issue. Listening in during the last quarter we had so many chances to take the game but it was a procession of missed shots and 4 posters!!

Any great credit to the WPFC for taking us apart especially with 2 men down by halftime, we were outplayed and outcoached on a great day for footy put together by WP, 7300+ attendance, freebies aside is a great advert for the game.
