absolutely on the money SS. if horse was with WART or FART he'd be down at the footy club every day getting continuous treatment instead of climbing up scaffolds...not a level playing field that's for sure.

DG, not one of the great games of footy at times, fairly scrappy in perfect conditions. We got out of the blocks reasonably well keeping them goalless until it was 5 zip at around the 10 min mark of the second when we just went sleepy byes while they slammed on 6 majors to grab a half-time lead. We were over using the ball, way to much handball hence the turnovers allowing them to take advantage, it looked ominous at halftime. Clanger, Menagola, Madut, Robbo, Latham, Smith, Rumba were holding it together.

Obviously Schoey read the riot act at the long break as they came out much more focused, still over used the ball but less so and moved it on quicker resulting in a 10 goal to 2 second half. Menagola was exceptional given it was his first game, has a huge tank and just ran all day, his kicking is generally top class.
The usual suspects had good games in Clanger, Robbo, Twomes, Rumba, Latham, Smith, Kitchen and was probably Maduts best game. He is improving with each game, not winning the tap out contests yet but around the ground he is solid and his chase and tackle is terrific.

Yazz had another very average game, was closely checked and only broke away when the game was done and dusted. Needs to be consistently harder at the contest and follow up with second efforts, missed a few easy snaps and could have had 4 but all late in the game.

Great spread of goal kicking which is what we want going forward, Mena adds another big bodied mid who can run all day and hit his targets, 35 disposals and 2 goals is a good day at the office.

Given we have Horse, Boland, Wortho & Stevo, all quality players on the long term injury list, the guys who have come in have done a fantastic job. Those 4 will have to fight hard to get a go in the ones, and will have the advantage of running themselves into form in the 2's for as long as needed.

Sowfs next week, should be a ripper as they are in some good form and always give us trouble.

Cheers SS appreciate it. How was Woody he had a few shots? Any more injurys? Yep its bs re. the rehab situation.

Woody was ok, having a real dip and took some marks but needs to take more, that was his strength when the Dorks picked him up. Not sure he'll hold his place once we get through all the injuries, a fit Boland is always a better option, bigger faster more aggressive ...... on and off the field!! One good thing was Blech played very well in the two's really up and about, 25 touches and 2 goals, he's another strong body to throw in the midfield mix, plus Mahoney was rested or injured so he's another to come back in with Horse but as I said I'd like to see all those guys do some time in the 2's just to show some respect to the boys that have been doing the job so well in their absence. Not many weak links out there at the moment, guys like Latham & Smith are more than doing their job, part of a swag of 175 - 183cm solid built blokes that are really hard at the contest.

Senior Seagull wrote: Just a note on the umpiring, all we ever ask for is consistency either consistently right or consistently wrong!! but we got little of that Saturday, it was an abysmal performance, confusing for the players let alone the punters and bad for both teams.

We did win by 48 points and the count was 22 to 16 against, we must be such big nasty physical team who are regularly second to the ball, that's the only explanation??

Better shut up about the umps or you'll think I'm a Ducks supporter!!

Agree there were some funny decisions both ways and although Hampson got the 2 for 1 goal and it was probably a fair decision - I've seen that happen that many times and the umps let it ride ???

Agree with most of your comments but some of our disposal into the forwards was terrible. Yarran made leads but the ball went too low or over his head ???
He could have easily kicked 4 goals and then nobody would say he had a bad game - same with Woodsy ??? But they move around & are good options up forward with Deluca who was also quiet at times but I think it was the 3rd or 4th when he got a bit of the cherry.
What's the story with Wortho ??? Also I said earlier that I would like to have seen Menengola back through the ressies even though he played well and had it on a string from the 1st bounce. We're playing that well why should someone go out unless they're struggling for form and someone's performing better ??? Watched all the ressies and I agree Blech played well and I liked Ashman's game - he goes in hard !!!

No excuse he still shouldn't have played - I don't like the message it sends to those in the league or ressies teams. He could have had 50 touches and I still wouldn't have liked it. But it's done now.

The wind was a bit stronger than it looked from the stands when you went onto the ground.
EF had all the play in the 1st 15mins of the game but lacked any system up forward except for Hampson nobody was moving. Subi kicked the ball faster and longer to their forwards with Wheeler the tall option and Halligan was moving well. Madut,Menengola,Phelan,Robinson all had the better of East's mids and Heal and Feathers played well down back. for the Sharks in the first BOB and Charters down back,Schoey and Macca had a bit of it.

In the 2nd Subi continued to look far too good with a great snap to Robinson. The Lions were harder at the contest and in the packs their tackling was brilliant.
At the 15min mark Woodsy's second effort smother to set up Robinson's checkside goal slipped Subi out to a 5 goal lead while the Sharks were goaless & looked like they couldn't buy one !!! This looked like the Shark's were going to get pumped ???

Stuff me drunk the game changed from then on in. You'd think the teams changed jumpers ??? Hampson to Henson for a goal,Hampson's 2 for 1 upsized goal from the ump's. Schoey sets up Locantro for a goal and all of a sudden at the 23min mark in the blink of an eye Subi are only 2 points up, second to the ball, not talking or winning contests. Hampson ducks and gets one high kicks it through the big ones but umps send him off with the blood rule - no goal sorry sunshine - go and whipe that maroon and gold (sorry blue and white now) blood from your premirship nose on the otherside of the boundry said the ump - In steps Lester (I need a few more of these)and splits the middle from 40m out on a 45 degree angle. 32min mark Perham (I think ?)dribbles through a great goal and shortly after the siren goes for half time.
As a Subi supporter with the others (there were 1000's if not millions of us) around the ground we felt ambushed. The Sharks had come from nowhere and all of a sudden game on and Subi looking very average !!!
The Sharks had piled on 6 straight and I had to buy a burger, splash some cold water over my face and re-group for the second half ??? Change my viewing point (a tactical/super - move) move down a level near the Stavros Show with some close action with the up and jumping East supporters as I angrily hoe into my tucker.

Lucky the Subi players did the same (minus the feed) and in the 3rd and fourth Subi totally out played, out ran and out classed the Sharks who stopped as fast as they'd taken off. East just quite simply made too many mistakes and got beaten in the midfield.

Game over - but I never thought it would be the last we saw of Stav as coach.
He probably sat down and said why can't these pricks play like they did in the second quarter all the time ??? And then they lie down and show me nothin from half time on ??? He's got a point as East's best is as good as any but their worst is as bad as any. Let's see how the players respond - I picked them as 2nd at the start of the season behind the Dogs.

Stav said fuck it - I'm gonna watch the games like that noisy Choppa prick and eat burgers. Enjoy your meal Stav.

I 4got to say well done to the colts on their 2nd win of the season.
I didn't get there that early to watch but was told they played well.
The Sharks had heaps of players out but would probably have penciled in a win ?
A big week against the Dogs this week will be a good test for all grades as the dish lickers are doing well.
