That was a really strong win. I thought we were in for more of the same as last week for a while but all of the new boys stepped up & showed what they are made of, they now have to be consistent. Schoey gave them a bit at qtr time & we started to use his simple game plan & more importantly we had a dip. Have to stay mentally tough like that. Was easily Lockyer's best game, Dela is a good chf, Fez was probably our best & Madut did well against Keunan with good help from Clancy. They came hard at us towards the end but we held them off well.

Dags, you blokes played well for the last 3qtrs, we were brilliant in the 1st but unfortunately for us its the "Same shit, different bucket". At this stage I reckon we are a 10% better side than last year (thanks to Lourey), but may just slide into 5th !

Really proud of the boys after a disgusting scoreless first quarter WITH the better of the breeze, to turn the game right around.
Schoey was savage at quarter time and really laid it on the line telling them to stop over-possessing the ball, more kicks less handballs and stop being lazy!!
Conditions were tough for both sides with that tricky cross breeze and then some rainy patches as well.
I know WP had about three good players out (that I can think of) but when you consider Subi had Horsley, Twomey, Blechynden, Yarran, Deluca, Boland, amd Menegola all missing, it's encouraging to see some of the younger boys step up and get us over the line for four valuable points.

Spot on Ocker, the boys responded just as Schoey would want in particular Dela who along with Phez was our best, he gave that leadership that was sadly missing in the first qtr, just shows what value Horse is as a leader as well as a champion player. Great effort by the boys that came in and shows we do have reasonable depth with the ressies continuing to do well. Stevo & Wortho both adapted well to their stints in the forward half, I think Schoey had identified that Joondy mount a heap of attack from the HB line and theses boys were able to use their defensive skills to shut that down after 1/4 time plus Stevo dobbed 3 as well. Garcia is developing nicely as a small forward his pace was explosive at times last night, when we get Boland, Yazz and Deluca back to join in our forward line will be hard to match if the mids continue to get a fair share of the action.

Spoke with Matty Boland at 3/4 time, he said he'll be back after the bye, been struggling with a bad calf, Menagola would still be a month away as he's still in the moonboot, should have Horse & Blech back next week as they were listed as "general soreness" and Yazz will be chamfing at the bit, not sure what's up with Twoemy but he is massively important to us with his precision delivery off halfback. Will be a big game down at the kennel next week, sowfs will be full on after a disappointing loss to Bogundean.

The quarter time huddle was one of the best I've been to. Not often you see all three line coaches and the head coach give the players a bake, both individually and as a team. It worked because they didn't look back after that.

The battle of Leederville #2 was just like battle of Leederville #1. West Perth started it but we finished it. Was encouraging to see some young players step up and fill the roles of the missing regulars. Especially Lockyer, bet he enjoyed sticking it up the team that told him he wasn't good enough. Madut squared the ruck which is what we want from him. Garcia looking dangerous up forward and good foil around the feet of the talls.

That may end up being the case Screemer but not many players play all 20 home & away games, but while he's up and about we are getting great service from him.
