EF are still out bitches
Despite 38 touches I still think Horse will get better as the season goes on, really liked the look of Kitchin (sink) but my tip for BOG was Twomey. His running out of the backline and pinpoint kicking were awesome. Agree on Yaz, he needs to be smarter with his body work in marking contests. Liked Maduts game, can't fault his work ethic and follow up efforts. Wheels was outstanding as usual.

When he does front up against these top class ruckmen it will be a great learning experience for him, we cant expect him to come out on top but you can guarantee he'll make is presence felt. We lost the ruck taps against Cl but our mids ran over them, we squared the taps against the Gummies and our mids dominated after halftime especially, so our one inexperienced ruckman is more than balanced by our big spread of quality mids and arguably the best forward line in the comp and that's with Boland yet to suit up. Clanger and Yarran again terrific but as previously mentioned Yazz has to be careful with his bodywork, got pinged several times for hands in the back. Mids generally were terrific, The Sink, Horse, Blech, Mahoney, Phez and a solid first up effort by Robbo, dominated against what was touted as the comps best midfield. Backs were wonderfully lead by Twomey, he is quite surgical with his ball gathering and disposals, just 18 disposals but I didn't notice any that missed their targets, "team backline" as has been the case since the early naughties.

26 - 10 negative free kick count says something but what? maybe we are an extremely physical side ... I'll gladly accept that but a physical team that has been predominantly 1st to the ball in the first 2 games has one scratching ones head!!

Big Good Friday game coming up against the feral eagles who bounced back against the Ducks but will they have 11 listed players this week with the Budgies playing their first real game? I think they had had at least that many in last years wonderful GF :-)

My internet's been down so wasn't able to comment on the good win against the Sharks earlier.
A nice tight game which we blew away in the third and just went through the motions in the last. A great game by our on ballers and forwards. I thought the backs were a little slack ???
Enjoyed the usual banter and hospitality in the Shark Pit as always. It's good to have a shout, laugh and enjoy the game with the boys in there.

It's a pitty both sides weren't at full strength and we didn't get to stick it up the turncoats from each team who have defected but hopefully next time ???

Subi's forwards will be boosted shortly with Boland at FF, Deluca in a pocket and Halligan on a flank so its going to be tough competition up there with Yarran and Wheeler going nicely (Charters played well although Clancy got 3)and Woodsey getting use to us again. Menegola looks like being out for a while. Kitchin looks a real find.

The Sharks missed Anthony and will be better off by a long shot with Henson,McGough, Hampson and big Bristow back in the line-up.

I wouldn't read too much into this game except both teams will be up there one would think but it's a long season. Good to win 2 from 2 and I think we've found an adequate replacement to taunt the Sharks now that the little master Ali Pickett has been gone for a while. Shane Yarran has kicked a bag each time he's played the sharks and caused them all sorts of headaches.

I look forward to our next encounter - I'm tipping it will be much closer.

The big fellas tap work is excellent but he needs to offer more of a contest and marking option around the ground. I do like his physical work. He got nearly half his disposals of the game in 1 passage of play where he did a brilliant job of hard running up into the forward line getting the handball off and following it up a few times.

I think he shows promise which is also teriffic as he's all we realy have this year so he has to stand up and be counted and he will get evry opportunity to perform.

I'll be watching him with great interest - Where's Ben ? he'd be loving the big fellas work !!!

Not too many passengers in Subi's side for sure. Garcia gets a rest with a one week suspension I think - so that opens the door for someone else.
I thought both the first two rounds were high quality games. Both Claremont and the Sharks have some big names to come back.
I watched the second half of the Souths v Perth game last night. It appeared to be a lower standard than what I have seen from Subi games so far. I guess I could be left standing with egg on my face but I'm feeling pretty confident this early in the season for a good year.
Yarran seems to have stepped up a bit more - maybe the year of WAFL level under his belt and another pre-season has been good for him. Very exciting anytime the ball goes near him.
