A bit similar to last week DG a great game of footy and Subi weren't good enough for periods of the game and deserved to loose. Well done to the Dogs on what was a great game of footy to watch - Exciting from start to finish with both teams having a red hot crack !!! South had too much speed, made less mistakes and a more functional forward line hitting the scoreboard when it counted.

The last two games have been a perfect run into the finals for Subi but the major drama is they've come up short in both games ???

The 1st 1/4 started with great intensity and the 1st 10mins Subi looked as though they were here to play but after that point South took control and made Subi look ordinary. South were getting good drive out of the middle and had more speed - Collica,Hams,Schloithe,White,Saunders and big Pullman dominant. For Subi far less contributors with Hampson and mahoney having a go without much assistance.
4 goals up by South was a true indication of their dominance.

The 2nd 1/4 Subi started fast with the 1st 2 goals before south bounced back with the next two with fast precise kicking into their forwards. South were more disiplined and the game was played mostly between the half forward/backlines. Subi probably had more of it but the south backline held up well. Boland didn't get a sniff as dylan Ross playing him like a glove and spoiling well. Subi did well scoring the last two goals of the 1/4 and looked much better going into half time although still trailing. Waters,Hampson,Bristow,Lefanu played well while for south Collica,Hams,Schloithe although he made a few costly errors,Bairstow,Parry and Kelly was exciting to watch.

In the 3rd subi got the 1st 2 goals and there was a chance that south could get run over with subi kicking the last 4 goals of the match but after getting to within 5 points South steadied and finished strongly with the ducking Ham's getting a kick on goals after the siren which he put beautifully through the middle to the applause of the South supporters.

The last quarter was set up as a beauty and it didn't dissapoint with quick goals by schloithje and a great running 3 bounce goal set up from Gillespie on the wing where he burned off Horse to spear pass to Saunders for a goal and it looked all over. To subi's credit they never gave up and got back to within a goal and had their chances with waters missing an easy one and Hampson hitting the post before south missed a couple themselves and sealed the game with agoal at the death-knock.

Great game of footy with South having a teriffic team performance with no passengers - Gillespie,Higgins(the best big man of the night),Hams,Parry, dylan Ross,Collica, kelly and Schloithe. For subi not as many four 1/4 efforts hence the loss but well done to Mahoney,Horse,Waters,Chris Deluca and Joyce,Bristow, Hampson in the 1st half and J Deluca in the 2nd half.

Slow start costly again for Subi but we're not too far off top form and with Yarran out and Towmey with Delahunty as runner and a few down on form I'm not that worried. Subi must have a good win over east this week to go into the finals with confidence and the finals preparation will be spot on.

Go the Lions !!!

I think Subiaco should be very wary of the Sharks. They have been building quietly and apart from the Showgrounds mudfest which you can probably disregard, their only poor effort in the last few months was against Souths who are beating everybody at the moment. I think this game next week will be a good lead in to the finals for both teams

Not sure mate. No doubt he is looking good but I think after being inconsistent last season people would like to see him string together a bunch of good games in a row. You can tell when he's on his game because he leads his man to the ball instead of waiting for the ball to pop out the back or get past his opponent on a lucky break. When he plays in front of his direct opponent he is very hard to stop.

One thing is for sure, we are building a nice core of players to sustain us for a while.

Fair call mate. If he bags another 5+ this week & plays like you said then it be hard to not pick him though. But yeah Halligan is doing the same & he's been around all season...

We wont want to lose 3 in a row leading into the finals & they wont want to lose as they will want a home 1st semi, so a very important game for us both. We will need to be at our best to win...

As previously mentioned, our slow starts are killing us, having to play catch up for the rest of the game. Good aspect is never tossing in the towel and good hard hit outs against the current form teams in CL & SF.

Our forward line is pretty dysfunctional without Yarran, he is the key as he is so hard to match up on and takes their 1st or second defender which frees up Boland. Our inconsistent gaol front accuracy is dissappointing, early season we were converting at a high rate but that fell away badly mid season then the last 4 or 5 games it has been great one week and missing the barn door the next.

EF showed that efficient footy is winning footy the last time we played them which was in atrocious conditions, looks like being a fine day so that should suit us better. Will need a heavy tag on O'Brien as he took us apart last time, if we can kerb his influence it goes a long way to getting a result.

Need to get some better delivery into the forward line, too many times we are just bombing it in but that can also be due to lack of movement by the key forwards, again yarran will make a difference. Spoke to one of the trainers who said he could have played last week but was held out as a precaution.

Any one know if Della will have a run this week? if not it's hard to see him getting a run in the finals, also we need Twomeys flexibility down back and up forward on occasions.

Should be a ripper game with both teams having plenty to play for. Anyone heading in for the 2004 premiership reunion lunch before the game? Germo Cheese and most of the 2004 team will be there so looking forward to some good speeches.
