Pretty good effort Saturday against Perth, we finally saw what happens when we get reward for effort, 27-8 was a great effort after weeks of poor goal kicking. middle 2 quarters were just average with the work ethic & pressure dropping away and very disappointed in the 3rd qtr when the boys let themselves get distracted by some physical stuff by a few of the Perth boys resulting in Perth outscoring us.

I'm a fan of Paul Bevan but it was really disappointing that he felt he had to resort to that sort of act, it was very late, very high, deliberate and very forcefull, if he's had a clean slate at the tribunal he will probably just get 2 weeks. Gotta feel sorry for Mahoney, that's the second time he's been taking out unfairly after Sylvia coward punched him behind play earlier in the season.

Horse was terrific again, Yarran obviously likes playing Perth, McDougal showed just how valuable he will be going forward, Waters had a day out, Boland continues his consistent good form after an injury break and watching George basically do what he wanted for most of the game was a treat. I can understand young Clem Smith getting frustrated as Hampson put on a clinic, shame for the lad to get booked, he obviously has some talent but resorted, or was told to resort to roughing up Hampson which had little effect. Bit of a learning exercise for the boy.

Stockley off early followed by Mahoney in the 3rd, 2 key players, so a good effort for the boys to run out the match in such a ruthless manner as percentage will be vital. Stocks looked like a hammy so will probably miss the Souths game.

Special mention for Clanger who is having a great season, our Mr fixit who has done a great job whether down back, CHF or on the ball, great overhead, good skills and knows where the goals are.

Same sort of effort, without the 3rd qtr lapse, needed next week against Souths down on their paddock will be a much tougher assignment especially if it's wet as forecast.

Senior,

Boland and Delahaunty's absences over the past month haven't been injury related, Subi will have you believe that, they have to juggle the team to fit under the points cap and those two have been rested on and off !

clem smith was on the niggle all day will become a poor mans ballantyne should he make it (yes I know he played back), upsets people loved watching bevan,a class above. didn't see the hit but he was getting frustrated. u need to hang onto him dees will teach midfield where to go, how to position. magic get german as coach or Harvey u need a culture apart from a good coach. showed some magic in the third quarter that is as good as it gets. a different team after half time but then ran out of legs the team has promise, but perth always teases
