Yeah i was thinking the same, very strange game. Playing McDougall turned out to be a good decision, very strong hands in those conditions & rucked well in general.

Really strange game of footy when one team has such a massive advantage with inside 50's. EF were super efficient up forward converting at a dry weather rate, we could not hit the side of a dam wall!! McGough and O'Brien murdered us around the packs collecting 70+ disposals between them. Only 9 points in it and we had so many more opportunities. 20 frees to 14? 3 or 4 howlers in front of goal for EF but if we had kicked straight it would not have mattered.

We failed to vary our attacking line from the kicking up the line all day to massive packs, many times we had the ball and ignored the spread into open space which EF did on many occasions therefore creating space and an open forward line whereas our forward line had 36 players in it for most of the day which negated the inside 50 advantage. McDougal was clearly the best bigman on the field and when we could get some clear air up forward Boland looked dangerous. Fez, Brissy, Horse, all serviceable, Hampson tried hard but he will never be a wet weather player, highly skilled but lacked the ability to adapt to the extreme conditions.

Will be interesting to see how many talls play next week, I would suggest all 4 play, Frank, McDougall,Clanger & Dela if fit as the centrelinkers are loaded with good talls. Dela at CHF, and rotate the other 3 through the pocket and the bench, or maybe send Clang to CHB. Shame Souths couldn't hold on against Swans that leaves us 2 games adrift of 2nd place!!

I just watched the replay of the first half on abciview.

Jimmy Garcia's goal has to be goal of the year doesn't it?

Great to see such a talented young player back in business after so many injuries.

Agreed Senior that we will need all of those talls you mentioned against Peel and maybe even one more in Stevenson if fit.Delahunty was actually doing warm up exercises on the boundary during the ressies game for whatever reason,so Iwould expect to see him back this week.Kyle Halligan is going great guns in the ressies and deserves to be rewarded with a league gig.Great to see the continued improvement of Hoskins and Norriss in the ressies also.Well done to the unsung coach of the ressies in Ryan Redfern and his support coaches who have their chargers playing a terrific brand of footy and placing pressure on the league players to perform.
