Sweet thanks mate. Good to see McDougall named.

Yeah. He had his civies on by half-time in the ressies last week. Must have been precautionary.

Watched the league game on TV a couple of times. Interesting match.

I wouldn't say it was our most desperate performance. In fact Perth were really busting a gut to stay in the game and more than matched us in most areas apart from foot skills and decision making. They really did make some bad choices trying to switch play and kicking over the man on the mark. Can't knock them for effort though and I think they ended up with more disposals than us but still ended up with less inside 50's.

Really enjoyed watching J DeLuca, C DeLuca and Yarran. Not only do they have a fair bit of flair but they also apply a lot of pressure and when they tackle they physically stop the opponent.

I can sort of see why Elliott divides the opinions of supporters. He wears his man like a glove. No doubt about that. But surely there are times when a backman - after spoiling - has to leave his man and try and get the ball or help a team mate get the ball? But still, he might be under instruction to only go for the ball if his opponent does?

Love the work of Frank Stockley every week. That bloke gives 100% in the air and on the ground.

Thought Joycey was really good. That's his 20th league game and he is starting to reproduce his colts form. He was a very good colts player.

Also thought Latham played a really good game sweeping the crumbs up in defence and getting the ball out of the danger area. I guess I have to admit, when he arrived I thought, hang on, we have this kind of player already - age wise and talent wise - waiting in the wings. But he really impressed yesterday in particular.

Kyal Horsley - what a champ. One player can make a big difference.

Got to take my hat off to coach Schofield. I didn't think we could do better than 4th or 5th this season but he has done an amazing job.

Would love to see Joe Scafidi get a game next week. Have agreed 100% with keeping him in the ressies for the first 6 games because he is only in his first year up from colts but it seems like the right time to push him up now. Hes earned it I reckon. To think that he, Hayden Kennedy, Dom Sheed and Mitch Turner all played in the same age group team at Mines and all played state juniors. Liam Ellis was in that side as well and he only just missed state 16's selection. He must be close to returning from injury actually.

Anyway, the thread was a bit quiet so thought I better get some discussion going.

Watched the game as well Ben.. Subi dominated most of the game. Looking forward to our clash and I would be a liar if I said I wasnt worried after your smooth performance..
You certainly had a win getting Frank and he is a huge asset to your team. Well done to him and all the best for the Future.
Seva Martin is looking good at WP as well and with time will develop into a top ruckman. Catchya at Medibank.

Couldn't make it this week which was disappointing as I love going to Lathlain. Watched a bit on TV and was really impressed with Shane Yarrans effort, have been saying all year that once things click for him he is going to be such a dangerous player. Stockley has got to be recruit of the year not only in the ruck but his work around the ground is Newick like. Loved his steamroller goal last week, how is he not in the state squad. We seemed to just be coasting for much of the game so will need to lift the intensity against Joondy.

Missed the game due to family reasons but caught the replay. Looked sensational in the second half of the first qtr when Yarran cut loose, if he can continue his improvement/confidence he is going to be a real handful especially with his height he will attract the first or second best defender, leaving Boland, Hampson, the DeLuca's and Dela more freedom in the forward line.

Yes agree we cruised a bit, playing in bursts, credit to Perth for never giving in right till the final siren, they just lacked the same level of polish and decision making but were committed to the contest which meant we didn't blow them away when we looked likely to do so. Pretty even team effort with just a couple of stand outs in Stockley, Yarran & Brissy who as usual ended the game with his melon bandaged, this guy is totally fearless. The ball spent long periods in our backline which indicated our mids were not working hard enough but our backs did a sensational effort to stop the D's from scoring.

Will need a major increase in intensity and consistency of effort against Joondy, they had a big scare against the Dorks but were good enough to dig deep and get the points so they will have great belief. A big 4 qtr effort needed next week boys, no cruising please.
