Been in some reasonable form last few weeks despite the injuries to key players, hope we can win this one and then maybe knock the handbaggers out of finals the following week which would be hilarious. Hopefully South can win their last 2 to complete the deal.

Channel 7s coverage of the wafl is pretty good, I have to say.  They did well to make that game entertaining. Some nice extras. Knowledgeable commentary. Good feel for the history of the game.

As for subi, the forward line didn't rely function apart from borchett. Soks really didn't contribute. Loved kitch's aggro. He's going out at the right time. Bellouard is a goer. Evitt very quiet. Hickmont the elder has an ability to get the ball moving our way. Key player. And Savigni just doesn't stop trying.

Can't see us improving that much next year, but you never know . Let's get a win next week for kitch.

Can't say too much about this game given the conditions and the fact both sides were just playing for pride. The debt dodgers were a bit more efficient on their own shit heap so good luck to them.

I will comment on one player though and that is Kitch. His commitment and tenacity is second to none and if he does give it away at the end of the season, he should be remembered as an absolute champion of the club....not a champion of the game as I think he would be the first to recognise he's not a naturally gifted player, but no-one tries harder and puts their body on the line more than he does.

The club has some work to do during the off-season to get back in the mix, and I think we all know what is required in terms of playing and non-playing personnel .

Agree BC, Kitch has been an absolute warrior, his on field influence and example will be very hard to replace but I think Greg Clark is certainly the guy best equipped to do so. As for the game, it was pretty much soccer it and chase it, they had a bit more pace and handled the conditions just that little bit better. our atrocious goal kicking really handed it to them on a platter. Liam Hickmont again was our best with 27 touches and 9 tackles, must be in the frame on sandover night for his shear consistency, Kitch not far behind. Bellouard, Schoey, W. Hickmont and Savigni all good. Borch started like a german band but faded a bit like a number of others.

Would love to think we can help knock Cl out of the finals but I think I'm dreamin'.

As for next year, if we can get all our key injured players in Giro, Hayden, Mayo, Locks, Clark etc back and fit, plus the desperately required recruits, we should be there or thereabouts. Gus is retiring, Kitch almost certainly and doubts about Locks & maybe even Sok. But good youngsters coming through in Bellouard, Kelman, Murison and Mullane. Gotta wonder what Golding has to do to get back in the league, another dominant game in the 2's 31 disposals, 12 tackles and a goal, his strength around the contest would have been handy yesterday.

Off up north next weekend to find some warmth, so will miss the last game and the early finals. Hoping for any combination of the 4 top 5 traditional WAFL clubs in the GF.

heard yesterday Leigh Kitchin has announced his retirement - not sure if it was immediate or whether his last game is against Claremont

Yes I heard the same, Kitchin is retiring at seasons end. And quite possibly another.

Yes,  can confirm that Kitch, Gus and Ben Sokol all retiring at seasons end. Three great servants of the club and will be sorely missed. Enjoy your retirement guys and thanks for everything you have given the club over many great years !
