I just watched the last 10 minutes lived streamed on the AFL app. Hearts in mouth stuff and Swans had every chance in the last few minutes to snatch it but fortunately missed a couple of set shots. Appreciate any write-ups by diehards on best players, injuries, who missed out and why including Kitch it seems.

Great mark wasn't it. Kitchen running 100s after game.  One of the clinches has quit the club. Good turn up in the club for presentation. back line excellent. Ben newton got married today. The other clinch was pretty good today, I thought.

Subi were frustrating at times today. I did my nana with some of the decisions. Managed to kick to our forwards advantage in the last, at last.  Schofield lifted towards the end. That helped.

Still wondering how we won that. Kept thinking throughout that we were lucky to be so close and finally put together some good footy early in the last quarter, but defence held up all day and kept them to 7 goals. Stainsby’s mark going back into play inspired early in the last but we then let them back in and I thought for a few moments that the Swans player ( great mark) had kicked the goal after the siren to beat us, but their run of close losses continued. Best for me was In defence with Berenger, Rhode and Savigni all good. Max Walters also was good with some great marking.
Definitely lucky to get those 4 points!

Yes, Savigni continues to impress. I thought it was his mark in the last but you may be right that it was Stainsby. Berenger was cool all day. Gus very good, too. His run in the last was crucial.

thought Max had a quiet game, but came good in the last. Great goal and some timely marks.

Pretty simple the way I see it JL and Jjim. Some teams run out expecting to win every week and play accordingly even if things are not working exactly to plan. Its called a winning culture. Other teams run out hoping for the best, try their hardest but more often then not trip themselves up and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Some of their supporters then bemoan their "bad luck" at dropping so many close games.
Subiaco are in the first category, Swans in the second. Its all about expectations within the club and Swans have accepted mediocrity for far too long.

Couldn't make the game but watched the replay yesterday. Ugly game with few highlights, we had 31 more disposals, 46 more marks, 1 less tackle, 28 more hitouts but they had 15 more inside 50's, Frees were 19 to 11 in Swans favour of course. So we had plenty of possession but couldn't turn that into inside 50's but conversely to Swans when we did get it in we were more efficient. Only time we really clicked into gear was for the first 20 mins of the last qtr to get just enough of a lead to see off the late Swans push. 3.4 to 1.3 in the last tells the story, Swans had 2 chances to pinch the win but were not able to do so. Edwards I think it was who took a screamer on the siren but it was a really tough shot and he will feel bad but shouldn't, you win as a team or lose as a team.
The 2 Clarkes were clearly the 2 best players, Zac had another dominant game but faces a nervous wait for the tribunal, I think it was for a gut punch, so we may not have him for the Freo game. Our backs held it together under a barrage of inside 50's by Swans but took plenty of intercept marks as Swans tended to bomb it in.

Based on that performance, I think if we finish in the 5 it will be a very good effort. We face a red hot fully loaded Peelmantle on their shitheap next week, cant see us getting close to them although they could be down a ruckman given Darcy's hammy injury.

Hansen probably wanted to stay in Perth, but I'm glad too, speaking selfishly. Makes a joke of the wafl. Peel and WC both pick up more talent. Just in time to play subi.

It's a conspiracy!
