DG: yep, it is amazing how fashionable it is in sport for teams to play weakened sides for this that and the other reason. Just play your full side. 

All about the big picture I suppose, if we are beaten by Perth this weekend some will say we were short of a run! If we win it was a master stroke. I’m sure the coaching staff took the opportunity to look at some of the second tier players that may need to step up over the course of the season. WCE don’t have a reserves side so there was no opportunity to give the full list a game.

Only 4 clubs had scratcies on the weekend so having the opportunity for a proper hit out rather than an intraclub runaround is a good thing.
