I think we've steadied the ship. I hope we have. A guy at the bar told me we have. Was a bit disappointed to not have reserves playing in usual time, but evening game added something. But it's better with the reserves having a beer in the rooms after a game.  Subi women had some players worth watching and I liked their passion for the jumper,  but reserves belong before the league, in my opinion.

Not a great day for the club losing all 3 men's grades, just the ladies flying the flag. BC summed things up well regarding who did and didn't perform.

The stats were remarkably even across the board apart from hitouts which is usually the case. Joondy were disciplined organised and precise, 20 scoring shots for 16.4 at 80%, we had 19 scoring shots for 10.9 at just over 52% there's the difference. We produced enough scoring opportunities but failed to convert, thats due to the haphazard way the ball went into our forward 50, most times under pressure from the hard working Joondy mids and defence, other times totally botching it under little pressure and then there was the Hickmont one where he broke free running 20m clear towards goals, the ball was kicked to his advantage over his head only to take a classic West Perth bounce back over his head into the hands of a Joondy player, that's the sort of day we had. But great credit to a typical Harris coached team who ran harder especially on the spread, something we were very poor at, plus their foot and hand skills were elite compared to ours.

A fair bit of work still needs to be done and as BC mentioned we need the senior players back, but the last two weeks have shown we do lack depth, especially when you see what Claremont produced last week with 14 missing. Some may think we will win next week v EP but I think it will be a real battle to get over them, they fought back hard v EF and have 2 wins to their credit so we will need to see a massive improvement in how we approach the game, we need to get some hard run from more players on the spread and play a bit smarter. The number of times players turned back into packs and got caught was worrying, we usually make good quick decisions but only a few are doing that at the moment.
