Subi AGM Wednesday night, anyone going who can report back?
I've read the Annual report which mentions a positive financial result but no actual figures.
I think the last 3 or 4 years excluding last years distorted "Covid Jobkeeper" result saw the club make operating losses, so would be good to see us back with an operating profit.

The other big announcement in the report is the $1.3mill long overdue upgrade to the Leederville oval lights. The current ones are barely good enough for TV, so hopefully this will lead to some more early and late season twilight/night games.

Excellent news. I wonder if they can get a proper scoreboard

I wonder if Ron Alexanders election to the council has had an effect already.

May be the case Grump, the lights were an embarrassment, really only training lights, so for $1.3mill they should be some of the best lights going around.

Total loss after tax $70,989 but then change in value of financial assets of $219,654 gave a positive $148,665. I am not an accountant so not sure what that means?

Had Martin as joining the Bombers list so maybe they know something we don’t yet or he could return if not selected?  Not sure there. Won’t be having any night or twilight games until lighting fixed but hasn’t been finalised yet as quotes have risen to $1.3 m from 1.0m since process began. Will only be 500 Lux at that price too not as good as Lathlain Park which are 1000 lux apparently and would cost around $2 m .

Thanks for the update Jim. This run of operating losses is a concern although it's smaller this year than previous years but when most other clubs are turning a profit, you'd think either cuts to expenditure or increased revenue or preferably both would be a priority..

The feeling I got was that club was attempting to achieve financial stability with this years loss much better than previously losses of around 300-400k (ignoring last years result). They mentioned looking for other ways to raise income and they are still buying afl tickets and putting packages together ( not sure how profitable?).
