You'd think we'd get over the line relatively easily with this one given results so far this season but more importantly, it should provide a good tune up for the next month of footy with away games to Souths and Swans and a home game against Claremont.  Hopefully Nick Martin will get a run after kicking 4 in the ressies last week, Aaron Heal should be close to recovering from a hammy, Brandon Matera also in the mix and Stainsby back from suspension.   Isaac Clinch, Jacob Miller, Nick Menegola and Bailey Matera must all be nervous as competition for places starts to really tighten.   Subi by 30 points.

You’re taking the piss aren’t you BC, 30 points? You could rest a few and win by 10 goals.

I noticed that about Putt too LH. He almost seems a bit tentative at times and yes, he's new to WAFL footy and his ruck skills are developing but he'll definitely need to lift his intensity.

From what I saw of our match last week I would expect that Subi would win by, at the very minimum, 70 points.

Yes Putt will have to pull his finger out, big Oskar Matthews 199cm took 8 marks and bagged 2 along with 15 hitouts in his first game back last week in the magoos

I’m a fan of Borchet, but saw some worrying signs in the second half last week. Seemed to really drop off, complaining to team mates, stopped chasing, no second efforts. Not sure what that was about. He was up and about in the frantic end though. Agree with your four players in poor form, especially Menegola. Time to give someone else as much chance as he has had

Lewis Putt is 196cm and 95kegs but only turned 20 in January so he's a work in progress. Shows he has the skills to be a good ruckman but will lack some consistency due to his age, we all know 90% of big blokes dont hit their straps until 23 -24.
I have not seen much of Oskar Mathews, the budget has him at 199cm, 87kegs and he turns 23 in October, so slightly taller but lighter and older than Putt.

The game against WCER is a perfect opportunity to try out some fresh blokes and keep the pressure up for positions. I would hope we are looking at a 60pt plus win, it will be a warm low 30's day so the WCER being fulltime pro's might run the game out better, WP showed we can be run down late in games so something to be wary of.

Yes I don't think running out games is the issue SS when you consider we were relatively close to EP and EF at 3/4 time only to win by around 5 goals on each occasion. It's our starts which are the worry and hoping Wardman tries something different before the game this week to make sure our guys are switched on from the first bounce as SF and Claremont won't be so forgiving if we start poorly against either of them..

BC agree re EF but EP were 2 down on the bench and it showed as they were gassed by 3/4 time.
Yes they need to be fired up from the first bounce, they have looked lethargic and disorganised in each opening quarter so far, we wont get away with that when we play Souths and Cl who are coming up after WCER.
Wonder what's happening with young Breman, he looked very good when he played at CHF late last season.
our 3 key mids in Kitch, Marsh and Clark have been terrific but we need others to take more of the load, Walters will be much better for the run last week, Hickmont appears to be given a tagging role each week, Nick Martin may be ready to come in, he's primarily been a forward but I'd like to see him run through the mids more often, should be pretty fit after that block he did with WC, he's 190 & 86kgs slightly bigger that Maxy, so perfect size.
