Wimbledon is within the control of the International Tennis Federation rather than as past of the ATP Tour. It is the ITF which can sanction a player within a Grand Slam event for not using his best efforts. The fine for Kyrgios related to the code of conduct warning for an audible obsenity.

As has been pointed out he was born in Canberra.

With respect to his efforts in the 3rd game of the second set it is indisputable that there were a number of points where he did not provide his best efforts. However, it is not unprecedented that a player may limit the effort in a specific game or set. What Kyrgios did lacked the subtlety of a more experienced player. It demonstrated a degree of naivety and immaturity. It also should be noted that there could be no question that he was trying to win the match in the third and fourth sets. It also should be noted that his opponent, Gasuet, is a quality player who had beaten the 11th seed in the previous in straight sets.

I don't condone some of his behaviour and I hope that it improved markedly in the next few years. I also think that if he allows himself to be guided by some eperienced heads in the next few years he will develop into a quality player and person.

Getting onto Dawn Fraser's comments I think that taken within the entire context of her comments it is not the worst comment I have heard. I also think that it was appropriate for her to put forward her apology and I think that it would be best served if Kyrgios accepted the apology and perhaps learned from the experience.
