Bazza perhaps you and Paul Murray (Sky News variety) can join in with Alan Jones in what is a patently pathetic and puerile beat up. If you would care to watch the interview again you will see that Alan Jones was reading from his notes to quote the appropriate figures.

There is nothing on the table to indicate that bracket creep or lowering tax rates is on the agenda for the Abbott Government. To also put it into perspective I can remember the Hood and Storer Tables book which were used in the 70s for Leaving Maths exams. About the years I was studying Years 11 and 12 there was a change to include several trigonometric and geometric formulae in the book. So rather than test one's memory of the formulae it was a test of one's ability to apply the appropriate formulae to the exam problems. So the ability to construct sensible policy around the principle of the progressive tax rates and tax free threshold is far more important than being able to parrot tax rates.

Also, as a matter of interest when was the change made to increase the tax free threshold to $18,200?

Are you joking? You think it's a beat up and not that important that our shadow treasurer doesn't know the tax fee threshold and then tries to bullshit his way out of it when questioned on it later saying he thought Alan Jones was referring to superannuation. It is time we started demanding more from our politicians. If they are that incompetent no wonder we are in deep shit.

The big tragedy of it all is they seem to be as incompetent on both sides of politics. I think it was Labor that raised the tax fee threshold some years ago, probably under Rudd's first stint.
Get on your bike.

agreed DD...that fact that the new premier of q'land didn't even know the current GST rate when asked says it all.

Apparently it wasn't of much concern to the electors in QLD. It is nothing more nor less than a beat up to deflect from Abbott's LIES, BROKEN PROMISES and Abbott's own backbench rejecting him.

42...you really are delusional these days...she was asked that question during the election campaign well before the federal liberal spill attempt. read DD's comments...it's just another example of how inept our politicians are on either side of the fence.

BC the first sentence of mine related to which party won the QLD election in response to your comment. The second sentence related specifically to this topic.
