Ive seen a few like Walton over my time in the workforce JB the "Slash & Burn" types. Maybe if things were so dire he might have taken a pay cut himself seeing as tho most of the budgets under his stewardship havent been met this financial year on top of last and he could have saved a job or 2 or should I now say 9 if your rumour is correct!

Couple of East Perth blokes have approached Swans, not sure of names but probably want to know how much $$ they can get.
Swans may lose 3-4 in draft from league team, none from colts.
Blakely a certainty, Cary has 5-6 clubs interested, Carlton keen on Boekhurst and flew Howard to Melbourne for tests.
North flew Ethan Hughes to Melbourne last weekend for tests, would be a late pick or rookie at best

You think Cary will get drafted? He's got good skills, but he's 23-24(?) and would get blown away in a strong wind. Good luck to him if he makes it tho.

He is very mobile for his size and when he played a good game he marked everything in sight.
Only 24 late next year so has plenty of footy ahead of him at whatever level he plays.
Along with Abbott and McGovern they were all clearly the best young forwards in the wafl so can see why clubs would be interested.
Swans were asked to play Cary in the ruck as well as afl clubs are looking at key forwards who can pinch hit in the ruck as not many teams play 2 genuine rucks now

Anderson would be a likely candidate as well.......Blakely should go top 30, be interested to see where, wouldnt mind him at the WBD....perhaps WCE? ;) ......its funny reading the Bigfooty phantom draft with so many ES posters very few WA or SA boys seem to be in the mix.......not too many rookie spots free this year due to clubs delisting players on the promise they will rookie them......

Thought the last real pinch hitter down at Bassendean was Greg Jelks.

Anderson will go for sure and clubs would be silly to not look at J Daniels. If no colts go to draft then good theres some handy blokes who can handle the step up to seniors.

If Blakely gets picked up by the wee girls, his current new WAFL Club would be East Perth. That should make his father Mark (an old Royal) happy.
