As tough as this sounds, Box Hill Hawks job is to supply senior players for AFL team, while it would be great for them to get back to back at Box Hill, its better for the club long term to get back to back at AFL level

You are 100% right PH, in regards to the "business " of AFL footy, but the 80 year old lifelong Box Hill supporter, who does not follow Hawthorn may not agree , and thats not me by the way

Sad Kirbs, Ill agree, but that's the way of the world. The dollars are made in the top league, and everyone else gets their dollars by feeding players into those leagues.

The Box Hills hawks are effectively Hawthorns reserves side same as Peel and East Perth in WA, Port Adelaide in SA and the Sydney and Brisbane teams in the NEAFL, they are reserves sides for their respective AFL clubs and nothing more.

don't forget about the poor players that are not on the afl lists for these clubs

they want to win a premiership still and have to put up with the crap of having sewell & mvevoy be pulled out(and possibly still not play in the afl gf)and then have rioli rested for the final qt

might be writing on the wall for all non afl players at these clubs to look elsewhere
