Fantastic news to hear that the Bombers/Hird case against ASDA has been dismissed. Perhaps now this lowlife club administration and the Black Prince will now deem it appropriate to face up to their indisputable responsibilities.

hopefully the players won't be wearing the punishment SS......gotta feeling a few more players might be doing a Ryder and exercising that get out clause in their contracts.....

Problem with that Freeze is if they get 2 years no club can touch them. They'd end up playing country or ammos who have no drug policy.

Bundy I think the players will still have a get out clause and could negotiate reduced sentences. I have been busy at work this arvo and have read all 129 pages off the report. In his findings Justice Middletone amongst other things comments the following comments

1) the ruling is in regards to the lawfulness of the investigation - not if anyone has broken rules
2) players are not party to this legal action this is done by Essendon on behalf of its players, as such he feels players have the right to now negotiate with ASADA
3) show cause notices will now be issued, with the players and ASADA still able to come to a reduced penalty as agreed by both parties.

I think this is what will happen and most players will get their suspensions in the off season.

He also raised an interesting comment for the AFL to consider the relevance of Jobe Watsons Brownlow based on the outcome of his show cause notice with ASADA

Agree Freeze, my comments are aimed at the Bombers admin and the Coach, but the players are educated enough these days to know they can question what they are being given, especially someone like Jobe Watson who could not be threatened by the club to be sacked if he didn't go along.

Fox footy are reporting this morning there will be a meeting next week to remove the entire board and sack Hird.

It seems ASADA is prepared to be lenient on the basis that the players were "duped" into taking a banned substance. That surely has to spell the end of Hird?

You'd hope so. For me, I don't want the players to suffer if they really are innocent and got conned into it. Hird needs to be bought to earth - it seems as though he believes in his own majesty - time to go jimmy!! Little has to go too - to me, he's a real snake oil salesman.
