Here we go, Super rules are changing despite what they promised, sure at this point they won't impact on many and it won't be in this term but never the less they are telling us change is coming, clearly setting the ground work to drag up a few more monsters they promsied to junk, so expect back tracking on franking credits, CGT, negative gearing and higher taxes to come calling again.

If it is good for the country, what is the problem?
You are forgetting that this was all part of previous Lieberal and Notionals ideas.
As the super funds people have said, super is being used to bolster not retirements, but just to use it because the rules allowed it.

Double dipping on franking I don't agree with but I think negative gearing is a tax dodge for those well off enough to be able to buy a second home as an investment property. In today's climate that doesn't pass the pub test in my view with so many people struggling to even get into the housing market or find an affordable rental.

How about we make it your first investment property you can negatively gear but if you can afford to buy 2 or 3 or more then no way. If you are doing that well, why do you need generous tax concessions?

DD agree about the 2nd 3rd etc investment properties. There should be a difference between investing in a new build as against an existing property. The neg gear should be reduced or removed for existing homes but not for new builds. I know currently you cant get a new home built for love nor money but in "normal" times it is a boost for the building industry and increases the rental stock which can only be a good thing.

SS not sure which government introduced it but I think it might have been Kevin 747 or Gillard that there would be generous tax incentives for private investors who purchased public built or funded housing. The catch was they had to let it out for I think 10 or 20% less than market value. Is that still going?

I dont have a problem with the changes to superannuation rules. Apart from the fact I will never have $3 million in my super, it is time the government looked at the generous concesions that have been handed out since the Howard and Costello era. They dont have to go as far as Joe Hockey's disastrious budget, but serious changes need to be made to benefit the country, not just the select 80,000 who are the ones complaining about the changes.

Well today we copped the highest interest rates in 11 years, this is taking me back to the recession we had to have under labor.

just like the adds said, it wont be easy under abanese, while you are struggling to make ends meet , rest easy with the fat albo and his mates will blow another 75 mill on the voice referendum.

That was the spiel that the righteous religiousright ran with.
As I said before, what is wrong withcorrecting the wrongs of previous governments? It is for the good of the country.
Any one that has 3 mill in super doesn't need a hand out from other tax payers.
I notce that the rightwingers are very quiet here about the Robdebt RC.
Very shonky dealsdone during theRD.
Commissioner,You had a discussion on that issue?

Take a seat anchor I agree with you. This is a country of great opportunity and wealth. We don’t need to be handing out discounts for the filthy rich who have landed on their feet. Bigger problems in this country like homelessness and drugs. It’s a viscous cycle.

I don't wish to de-rail the topic in hand.......Surprising to notice not one person mention the scam of robodebt that's been laid bare by the royal commission and the complete disregard by bureaucracy and the key 7 or 8 main players in the whole shameful sham!
