gtr: all Perth pitches are flat, which is why SA made 500 in a shield day in 1970; Walters a hundred in a session Taylor 300 for NZ; Hayden; Maxwell should think about our bowlers, too, their record is one of an inability to bowl sides out on dody fifth day pitches in Sydney.

AR- His message is pretty clear. He doesn't like anything Cricket in WA.
I'm done listening to him now.Hes the first person I've ever heard bag out Optus Stadium. He believes it's not a test venue. The breeze doesn't reach wicket level,so the ball doesn't swing. Also the afternoon shade from the stands makes batting difficult.
Rugby League SOO,All Blacks,Top EPL soccer teams,AFL,ICC they all love Optus Stadium.

GTR you have done well to have kept listening to that irrelevant ol flog Maxwell for this long.
Myself and many of my cricket tragic mates gave him away years ago with his NSW bias unbearable to listen too....and when he was on air with that other NSW muppet Geoff Lawson on the ABC it literally made my ears bleed!
Does he still use that Tosca reference?
As I posted previously he should have been pensioned off a decade ago...he is a poor mans Alan McGilvray, Tim Lane, Glen Mitchell etc!

BH Jim Maxwell+Kim Huges where quoting the attendances on Abc Radio.
7000 - That would be generous as well, looking at the crowds, don't forget that over an entire day, not just a couple of hours.

CA has the fin backing to cop huge loses like this, not to sure how many years it can though, absolutely embarrassing look for Perth and the "top" stadium in Australia to be broadcast.  Imagine a Australia v WI test in the 80s in Perth would of been pumping,,,,yesterdays game I'm afraid.

Lilac Hill would be a future fit for events like this, goodness knows what WACA has planned.

LOL please just because you dont like cricket it doesnt mean everyone else is the same.
For a start CA unbelievably fixtured it to start on a Wednesday in Nov which is hardly likely to produce huge crowds when most people are working now would it, let alone against a very ordinary (these days) West Indies?
Secondly the TV rights deal currently in Australia (Foxtel & Ch7) alone was worth $1.2 billion and still has a couple of years to run and that doesnt include the rights from overseas including Asia with Star TV (India) worth another $300 million over 7 years recently signed, compare that to the WAFL who pay Ch7 a million a year for it to be covered lol.
Thirdly when there is a decent series on like the Ashes last Summer with 1.43 million average viewers per day on the 5th Test alone (so much for "ratings will be crap" lol) let alone the huge crowds that attend the Ashes Tests, how much revenue directly and indirectly do you reckon CA would make from that?
Hardly a 'dud' I would have thought!
Actually its probably more accurate to say just becasue you are one of a ever skrinking John Howard style cricket tragic everyone one is the same infact the piss poor interest in the test match proves you utterly out of touch. Aussie cricket team is on the nose.
