The escalating COVID-19 crisis in NSW vindicates the actions of the WA Labor government (and other state governments) for taking the actions to lockdown earlier.  From all reports it looks like there will be an extended lockdown in NSW.

We would have avoided this lockdown if our Premier had of closed the border sooner like he should have. He let it linger until someone came back from Sydney and was let out without having to self quarantine for 14 days because she returned one negative test on arrival.

But yet again Mark McGowan gets let off the hook by the media. Mask wearing and limitations should have been lifted Friday midnight.

News reports indicate that there were 77 new cases and one death in the past 24 hours.  In the past week, day by day the number of new cases has been increasing.

I would expect that other states will be even more likely to invoke lockdowns with greater alacrity if the delta strain escapes to other states from NSW.  My other prediction will be that the Morrison government will announce a jobkeeper II to allow states to invoke an earlier lockdown.

Is that the reason why there is a lockdown in NSW at this point in time?

they haven't locked down entirely - people have been allowed out and it's spreading like a fire because they cannot be told anything by the look of it mate

Hey 42...why politicise this issue by having Labor in the headline? It's not about politics, it's about lives and livelihoods and one trick McGoo has an easy ride as it's not difficult to lock down a state which only has one airport, two major roads in and a train. As DD said, if McGoo had of restricted travellers from NSW earlier, the infected woman would've been gone into isolation and we wouldn't be in semi-lockdown we're currently going through.

Me politicise this?  That is the biggest joke of all time.  How many topics have been created on this site to criticise McGowan and the WA Labor government?

Under no circumstances is it the fault of the WA government what is happening in NSW now.

That is a fair point about restricting movement between this state and NSW sooner but without the other states doing the same how effective would it have been?
