gtr: the Liberal leadership watch sky channel too much, forgetting that most people in the state see only Ric and Sue. Norman Moore, always consistent on this question, put forward a motion in support of secession as recently as a couple of years ago; it was one of the reasons Canberra changed the GST; talk about an organisation having a collective memory loss.

Ark there was a state Treasurer meeting last Friday. The Premier didn't attend because the sworing in of the new cabinet.
It looks like NSW has convinced the rest of the  state Treasurers .That Wa is cheating the GST.

I doubt that Morrison is stupid enough to change the GST distribution prior to the next federal election.  If he does the Labor Party in WA would campaign on the LNP stealing WA's share of the GST.  They would also highlight Morrison supporting Palmer in his High Court challenge and demanding WA open its borders.  Under those circumstances I would expect a swing to Labor here of at least 12%

it's almost a sick hypocrisy that state "Government" could possibly come out with any sort of cheating etc given the levels of corrupt dealings , the spectacular land buy up amounts , sudden resignations , ICAC inquiries , Grants debacles
They're after more money to pay for all the failures

gtr: typical; to be completely honest, the Tories gave up being supportive of state's rights when they forced so called 'Work Choices' down the country's throat.

We beat covid-19 in WA.We kept the Pilbara open .And all other mining and farming. We also had a deep recession 2015-19.In the middle of the GST ripoff. Our state debt ballooned to 40 billion dollars.
We  have the opportunity to fund future infrastructure without debt. And Pay back that massive government debt. The GST fight is why the premier has taken the Treasurer portfolio on.
