Just thougt fans would have focussed thier JOY at winning rather than negatively boo the umps??

Unka did you also notice a lot of Freo fans standing and clapping the Richmond players off the ground? I thought Fremantle fans showed great sportsmanship demonstrating they appreciate it could have gone either way and Richmond provided a great contest. It wasn't Richmond fans, they were at the other end of the ground.

well all i could hear on the tv johnny was very very loud booing as the umps left the ground.

Ah so you weren't there? Well i sit on the outer flank, Subiaco end and the Freo faithful gave Richmond a standing ovation as they walked off into their tunnel.

Who is your AFL team Unka? Eagles? Say no more if it is, didn't they boo or abuse an opposition player last year who came off on a stretcher?

Well I guess you had to be there Unka. The Cats don't lose too many home games but I am sure when they do the umps don't get clapped off the ground. Perhaps one of the reasons the Boo's might come across a little louder over here is the crowds are predominantly home town crowds with little more than a thousand or so opposition supporters. In Melbourne no doubt the crowds are a little more even when the Melbourne teams face each other.

The goal ump should not of been in a position where the ball could hit him..he obstructed a certain goal, if the ball didn't hit him it would of cleared the goal post quite clearly therefore a goal would of been scored, totally agreed with hardwick.

Seriously anchor, even Lyon said he thought it would of been a goal, take ya blinkers off & look from an even point of view, be different if it was against freo.. Imagine if that decision was in a final!!

You are probably the only person on this planet to not think it would of been a goal.. Say no more. Did you not see Healy & King demonstrate the correct way to goal umpire which will more than likely be introduced in coming weeks!

terror wrote: When will goal umpires learn to get into the correct positions? Vickery kicked a goal only to hit the umps leg, not good enough

Vickery ??? wasn't he the bloke who had fresh airie, at the kick at goal. In case you not know about goal umpiring to straddle the line for shots like that is a direction they are given, so cannot blame the goalie, just doing as he is told, but agree that should not step into the field of play
