What if the WAFC, who own the FFC licence, came and put some sort of ultimatum to the club about improvement. Not saying they will, because right now, all they have to do is sit back and count the money. Two two AFL licenced clubs have members coming out of their ears. It would be easier to sit on your hands and do nothing. Will they query the club.
What if the FFC members and supporters got together and asked the FFC Board for a Members meeting post season. Would the club answer the call.
What if the CEO actually spoke to the members about the team. Not the club, the team. Why do we not see him on TV telling the supporters what is happening.Others do, why not ours?

I think you made a good point with your opening statement anchor. Who do they go for if they bullet Lyon? All the really good coaches are all tied up (or so you would think). Like him or hate him, Lyon is an experience coach. You would have to go for a recycled coach or a new kid on the block. Risky.
One thing I can say, I know exactly how you supporters are feeling....I got the same problem in the WAFL.

No point having a couple of the best players in the comp and good young talent if your coach is a spud. Every day Ross is there Freo drift further away from being a Destination club. It's why they can't recruit big fish, they are not a destination club.
Presser was deplorable.
Plenty of experienced coaches around if the board had half a testi

uhtb did your team play today? How did they go?

Hi Sean,

Yes they did, Melbourne brought some serious heat and deservingly won. Learnt a bit , let lycett go probably not a number 1 ruckman.
Cracker game, easily match of the round, I have no prob losing when u are watching some quality football. I think simmo got out pointed as well.

Your team was shit, the Dockers are shot.but I guess u know that Sean or are u still claiming to not know the score?

I believe Sean when he says he didn't know the score as he listens to the games on his wireless with a rug over his knees and whenever Geelong kicked a goal, he stuck his fingers in his arse sorry...bloody predict text...ears.

Isn't there a SOFD cap now (spending on football department) ? If the board did decide Lyons time was up that would make it very complicated for them with his contract until 2020

I think it starts at the top and permeates down through the club from there. The Board sets the club's direction and generally appoints a CEO who will buy in and push that message including in the hiring and firing of coaches, Football and List Managers. Freo needs a complete shake up and that includes Alcock, Rosich, Lyon and Bond....maybe not all at the same time but it has to happen at some point if things are to change.

Anchor you would be very unhappy with the do not rock the boat attitude by a few Ex Players (Bell, O'Rielly) who are current Board Members. They have been around football clubs a long time and you would expect have a nose for sniffing out problem areas in the club. Bell got involved with the Sexual Harassment issue however has remained silent on the question of Ross Lyon?
Do the FFC members still have a vote for who sits on the Board? If so bang the drum and get a ticket happening Anchor and start the revolution...

Generally it would come from other Board members or prominent sponsors, high profile past players or supporter groups who are unhappy with the direction of the club and push for change. Over the years we've seen it happen at Melbourne when they were struggling and Glen Bartlett took over, Hawthorn with Dicker, Kennett and Newbold signalled the start of the golden years and Brayshaw at North Melbourne when he saved the club from relocating to the Gold Coast. If someone like Peter Bell started agitating at board level then I think he'd get enough support within the Board itself plus from others outside to make some changes.

I would go as far to say that the board has no grasp on football reality. Clearly there is a major problem at the club when a player like Lachie Neale wants to leave to go to Brisbane?? If you believe the large amount of chatter it all falls on Lyon.

There is a clear lack of leadership and direction. If Neale goes that should be the final straw for Lyon. you cant rebuild when the talent you recently develop head out the door. Lachie Weller last year, Cera is the only pick from last years top 10 who hasn't extended his contract.

Anyone that thinks the Lachie Weller trade was a good move - given hindsight, is delusional, Andrew Brayshaw is a younger version of Lachie Weller. Wouldn't Freo fans love a 22 year old Brayshaw right now?

Im guessing to save face they will put there foot down with Neale make him stay the extra year and make an even bigger mess.

this was one of my favourite reads about Ross: www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/sad-times-at...20180509-p4ze7i.html

Both good reads BC and Unholytugboat , none of the contents come as any surprise.
Anchor if I had a guess who the one Board Member is I would guess it might be either Bell or O ‘Rielly? Probably the first as O’Rileys young fella could possibly be a father son prospect for FFC this year. I would think dad would not want to effect list manager Rosich with his decision.
Getting back to the FFC Board mate they predominantly are professional board sitters and have no football club experience.
