That's the beauty we all have our opinions. Given your precis of our game today I find it difficult to understand that you wouldn't appreciate Dawson's unselfish approach to his footy.

Nothing wrong with being dour and uncoordinated and playing 160 odd games of AFL footy...wish I had of had that level of ability

I think a lot of the current day players are very selfish and epitomise the "player first" mentality. I will stay with my opponent and not try to help my teammate. It's the same as the 15-20 m kick so it is no longer my problem. I think Dawson is the opposite of that. Not the greatest player by any means but puts the team first; something that you might appreciate our players doing and playing within the parameters and limitations of his skill set.

He did what he was asked to do and has the record to prove it. All the, never played AFL football critics can say what ever they like, means absolutely nothing. He had a very good career.
