A/M I am struggling to understand the Freo selections in the first few weeks. Obviously form in WAFL means nothing because if it was, Balic would be in the team, especially being a young player in a club that is supposedly rebuilding.
Also how Dawson continues to be preferred to Collins in defence baffles me to be honest

The new guys need to be given time to settle in and learn the team style. I'm sure all of them will add value but the team may go backwards a bit before it goes forward. Like you I would be surprised if they beat Port Adelaide but hey who knows, there were a few upsets in round 1. This time of year is always unpredictable.

Thinking I might sit back and watch this game today. Vowed not to watch much AFL this year but wanna see how the ex SD blokes are doing at The level....what can I expect to see? Anchor, would you mind updating me on Walters, Blakely etc?

Balic, Taberner, Sheridan and Collins should come into the team next week for Danyle Pearce, Suban, Dawson and Kersten. Possibly a few other changes as well.

Learn the team style mikeh????? There is no bloody style. Watching our opening two games it is hard to see what style or game plan Ross Lyon is trying to implement. Today we looked like a bunch of auskickers.

That game style where you play expecting not to lose rather than attempting to win. Personally I think we are all underestimating the value that Pav was to this team...not even 'the great' Lyon could devise an adequate succession plan. Pav has left a huge hole that even a fully functioning Fyfe will struggle to fill.

Wait till they play Western Bulldogs next week.

Could probably add Crozier to this list as well.

Interesting to see how many of those get a game, probably not all of them but I think it is really important for Lyon to make a statement after that shocking performance in Adelaide.

Actually I read the article online Mr AFL, so I assume it would have been in the game somewhere in the printed version.
