Will both sides play their latest recruits,or will they go full bore to gain an edge for 2017?
I think a lot of the draftees will play, but maybe keep players like McArthy,Hailing,Hill & Kersten back.
A big chance for some who took the next step last year to show their improvement.
Look forward to seeing the side taken up North.

39 degrees is the forecast for Perth on Saturday. I believe it is forecast to be 36 in Wonthella on Saturday.

anchorman wrote: Guess that means a lot of players used then.
Maybe a lot of kids played by both sides.

It just goes to show the absurdity of the AFL. Why don't they schedule a game in Marble Bar in February. I believe the match starts at 3.40 pm, so it could still be 35 then. And yes I know that the WAFL clubs have scratch matches scheduled for this week end. The point is that the AFL have far greater flexibility than the WAFL.

To answer your point I would think that there would be an expanded bench and the more senior players having less time than their younger teammates.

Ball movement was terrible. We looked second rate. Only a preseason game I know but they had better pull their fingers out next week otherwise it's going to be a long season.

I know we got smashed and Lyon didn't seem happy.
Can someone give a report please.

We got smashed alright A/man I guess the only consoling thought is WC did exactly the same to us last year, or was it the year before up at Joondalup and it didn't translate into the real season. We looked like a bunch of footballers with no synergy or enthusiasm. It took Brad Hill about a half of footy to get a stat.

McCarthy didn't look fit and that year out of footy has probably everything to do with that. WC moved the ball with precision and an old timer called Sam Mitchell is probably going to be the recruit of the season.

Our back line got a touch up from Kennedy, Le Cras, Hill and Darling and at our end our forwards didn't present the same targets. We can say we are missing Sandi and Clarke but WC only had Vardy and Petrie. A lot of work to do before the first game.

There ya go Swannie I bit.

I honestly thought you were better than that. You wonder why you get the reaction you get for some of your posts. Not everything is about the host club alignment. It was a very simple question on how the likes of Logue, Blakely et al played. NO sinister implication, just a very simple question use the collective Swans' boys as I thought that the person likely to give an opinion Mr AFL would know who I was talking about.

Trust me there are ample opportunities for me to get stuck into the host club alignment without the need to use this topic.

Darcy is a big unit like the look of him definitely one for the future, Apeness and Taberner disappointed me. Tabs dropped a lot of marks and fumbled the ball. Don't think Apeness took a mark either.

Hamling struggled against Kennedy but against a dominant midfield it makes the life of a defender very difficult, Kersten struggled to find the footy but kicked one goal, Brad Hill got going in the second half but lowered his colours (pardon the pun) to Lewis Jetta who looks set for a big season.

McCarthy as I already covered struggled to get a kick, might have only had one kick and looked off the pace.

S42 just for you, Blakely didn't really get into the game in any significant way. First round draft pick Griffen Logue didn't play.

Don't like the bities and I will respond as if you have asked question that you mean.
Strange that you waited until I asked questions about the game before you had a say.
I would have thought that you would have k own that Logue wasn't playing g.Acckrdi g to reports he has a fair way to go before being named.

A/man I was at Basso Oval yesterday watching Swans' ressies and league play?
