I didn't notice Fyfe in your line up A/m, from what I've seen from a couple of training sessions and match sims Mora and Hill are running off halfback I expect Mora to be there rnd one.

Lyon has stated that Fyfe will be play 50/50 between midfield and forward and Barlow will go back into the midfield as he played high half forward last year for the majority.

I don't rate him A/M don't know if you can have him and Deboer in the same side but like you said Lyon does like his role players.

Stick to the weather Grassy. They are saying Bennell is an unlikely starter for round 1. With something like a calf I doubt they will take any risks.

Guys what are your thoughts on D. Pearce? I love him but he's got a tendency to butcher the footy especially going for goal. Given his age I don't think he's a certain starter this year. If the likes of Blakely and Langdon step up he might struggle to hold his spot in the team.

A/man I think Freo are going down the path of the reigning premiers. With 2 ex Hawthorn premiership players now part of the coaching staff a greater emphasis will be on skill level and execution. Anyone who butchers it is going to be under greater scrutiny than previous seasons I reckon.

Maybe it's been one of Ross Lyons weaknesses in the past. Not enough emphasis on skill and goal conversion.

Come on A/M you wanted things kept on topic, you start a new thread I commented on it in good faith Grassy the muppet calls me an idiot so that's ok is it , seems to me there's only one going off topic .

Anyway back on topic Ross Lyon seems to be of the opinion that Mundy may be used behind the ball , use up his skills coming out of defence their definaty hints to a bit of a game change this year.

Certainly interesting to see if Lyon does use Mundy off the half back line. He is more than capable to fill a running long kicking role. Morabito will come into contention as well perhaps a bit later subject of course to the knee holding up. I think this could be a very exciting season for Freo as they have recruited exceptionally well for another tilt at the big one. There are some promising younger guys like Pearce,Blakely,Weller etc that are starting to mature, added to that the aquisition of Bennell and maybe Yarran to bolster scoring opportunities, will be interesting.

I could certainly find a spot for Suban's Mrs...they walk past my place all the time and she's a cutie.

And Yes I saw where Lyon has said he would like to use Mundy as a sweeper I suppose.I am not sure that that is any different to him using Fyfe as a forward.That has been my opinion of Fyfe for a couple of years.But I have been howled down.
I see this season as a real challenge for the team, but an exciting challenge.We could be seeing the changing of the guard at Fremantle for some.

Yep fair enough on your 1st point, gee Fyfe has gotten huge all part of the plan spending time forward it's a no brainer for me being at Subi watching him drift forward I can't remember a time where he hasn't marked it in that scenario.

Tbh I can't see Freo sliding much at all top four is still very much in the picture.

I wouldn't be taking the best midfielder in the comp out of the midfield other than to drift forward on occasions to create a mismatch. Playing Fyfe at CHF doesn't make any sense as he'd be up against a Rance or a Harry Taylor or Hawks Frawley.
