Did you hear that he is the first player in 50 years to win the medal despite missing 4 games. Bobby Skilton was the last one I think

An outstanding season from Nat and great to see Priddis up there as well. I wouldn't have begrudged any of the top 5 or 6 the medal apart from that sniper Mitchell who started Fyfe's injury problems with that deliberate corky.

An awesome year for the kid. He will only get better in the next couple of years as well.As a mid fielder that is. Then he will make a name for himself as a CHF. Maybe enter into the status that Carey was.
I was amazed just how big he looked along side Mike Fitzpatrick.Fitzy was a number one ruckman in his day, yet Fyfe, now a mid fielder, was taller than him by what I thought was a couple of inches.

And he made Bruce look like a garden gnome :P It was a good interview though, Nat has got a natural manner and a dry sense of humour which made for some entertaining interaction unlike the usual awkward presentation speech "Thanks to mum and dad for having me" ;)

he's an absolute jet and a terrific ambassador for the FFC. fantastic interview after the count by Brucey and what really interested me was when Mike Fitzpatrick proposed the toast. Fitzy was a premiership ruckman and captain with Carlton but was shorter than Fyfe....just goes to show how the game has changed.

I also think Michael Barlow has a potential career as a stand up comedian when he retires.

I noticed that too BC. Amazing when you think about it. Imagine Fyfe leaping over Mike Fitzpatrick at a boundary throw in. Mind you he does that now over 6ft 10 ruckmen. Absolute gun and loved how he interviewed not only with Bruce but with the Talking Footy panel afterwards. And loved Ross Lyons comment at the end. "I don't coach Nat Fyfe, I just check in on him now and again". That says it all. Leads from the front and should be made captain next year regardless of whether Pav plays on or not.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Have you forgotten he (Fitzpatrick) was a premiership Ruckman at Subi in 73 ? Thought you would have referenced that first..this how the WAFL gets lost in the conversation when it shouldn't

no I didn't forget that SD but was comparing apples to apples...Fitzpatrick's equivalent now at Carlton would be Kreuzer who is 200cm whereas Fitzy was 192 during his playing days..my point being that Fitzy would probably not be a ruckman if he was playing today given the height similarity with Fyfe your modern day midfielder.

Well done - probably should have been his second Bronlow.

Here is a prediction: at some point in time in the next couple of years Hackdorn will suggest that Freo are in danger of losing Fyfe to one of the Victorian teams.
