Its just common sense mate.
At the end of the day they are getting paid good money to play the sport they have grown up to love. That is just about every junior footy players dream. To say that an AFL player wouldnt train as hard or play as hard in the reserves because the reserves team they are affiliated with isnt the one they grew up cheering for, or even played with originally, is just laughable.

agree with your comments on Pearce and de Boer anchor. Both good players but can't see them breaking into Freo's best 22 next year with all the kids coming through so use them for draft picks. Same could be said for Sylvia and Gumbleton but those two are untradeable. Some of the guys you mentioned like Moller et al need to step up and do it quickly or else delisting beckons. Hannath has shown a bit but it wouldn't surprise if Griffen gets the elbow when he comes out of contract, although in saying that a team like the Saints might consider him on a one year deal.
