Where is Anchorman? Probably too busy trying to settle down his rager at the moment to type but good news for Freo and Freo fans is that Fyfe has signed on for 3 years.

I am a bit surprised that the contract isnt for longer though.

I heard Fyfe's interview on AFL 360 this evening. In essence Fyfe suggested that three years wouldn't lead to any complacency in contrast to a longer contract. He also pointed out that it would expire at the time he would become a restricted free agent. The latter point was that the restricted free agent would be a commercial decision to allow him to maximise his earning capacity. That is not to be taken that he would be leaving fREO AT THAT POINT IN TIME.

The other salient points he made were:

(i) that it took about a day to organise the deal; and
(ii) he confirmed, without naming the club, that he was offered a deal from a club external to Western australia.

My feeling is that he will remain at Freo for his entire career. I also think that David Mundy will re-sign for Freo in the not too distant future.

Do we need to put out a missing persons bulletin for A/man. Where oh where is the A/man? Did he go down to Mandurah to watch Freo's reserves' team and couldn't get back?

Robbo's mail on 360 was Fyfe was offered a 7 year deal from a club outside of Western Australia. He's going to be doing some digging to find out who. Suspect it would be GWS. Sad news for a few WC supporters who were dreaming that Fyfe might have entertained moving up the road. Haha
