No one wants to play for Peel ya fool!

I think it's BS that AFL clubs pick up kids to play AFL.

There should be excellent state leagues or 2nd tier comps and the AFL should take the best from here.

Not saying that woody is a bad or good player but certainly not in the best 1000 in the country.

What would the point of establishing your AFL side have been all about if South disappeared ???? or Old Easts for that matter ....

To go forward successfully into your 21st Century , heritage & tradition must be valued and kept sacrosanct - protected for life for the kids of the zone to use

Southerner,though not a member,I still have Red and White blood running through my veins.
Some times you just have to give up something to get by.
As much as some people here think that I would have run to Peel that is the furtherest thing from the truth.
I would hate to see Souths go by the way side,but then again I would hate to see myself go that way as well.Some times life is worth far more than football.
Also though I don't want to see Souths or East or any side for that matter go down the chute,I can see it happening.I see the WAFL becoming even less significant in years to come than it is now.
I see a competition being run as a major competition for the younger players who the AFL are more interested in.I can see an under 18s fully fledged main competition being run.Maybe under the name of the WAFL.
Maybe I am being negative,but at least I am living in the 21st century.The WAFL is fairly insignificant in the big scheme of things in Australian rules football as is the SANL.It is only relevant in so far as they produce the young guns of tomorrows for the AFL competition.
It is a sad thing to say but that is the way I see things going.
But again the Red and White Blood runs through my veins and always will.

Well yes & no anchordude ... the WAFL is very relevant given the Vicco drafts , and even more in regard to providing a platform & stage for those who miss out

If as you say there will be only an U18 system .... where are those over 18's who miss out going to play???? .... what happens to them ???? Does Footy cast them aside forever more - or do I take it that every future kid will be pre-programmed to stay 18.
Already have an excellent underage comp - works in tandem with the seniors .... look at the results
But you could totally forget about attendance if that scenario came about - memberships too .... in fact it would be the death of local footy entirely .... country leagues would then probably struggle too

what you expect from a Vicco no less .... expand into rugby lands at all costs and lay waste to the ground roots in the process
He's a turdburger of the highest calibre I have to agree , I know lots of folks who couldn't be bothered with the made for TV , heavily contrived , bogus & corrupt VFL anymore anchordude
Ground roots local footy is great fun for the family especially in Freo .... love that shizz & always have - sure it's the same for the other local clubs
