What a pivotal game this is, Freo need to win to make top 4 and the Tigers need a win to consolidate in the 8. With Pav, Ballantyne and McPharlin out Lyon will need to weave a bit of magic for this one. Think Tigers may win this.

Very tough without those 3, but still very capable of winning. Guess it just depends which Tigers outfit turns up.

I am going to have to tip Tigers though.

We really struggled to beat them at home earlier in the year with McPharlin. They have their absolute best team in and are at home. Hope you are right Anchorman, I think we will be battling to kick enough goals to beat them and Riewoldt is due to kick a few. The weather maybe in our favour if, as expected, it rains. Looking forward to the game, shouldn't be much in it.

Beaten by a better side on the day, I am not surprised when you have 4 of your best 10 out and a few wonky umpire decisions. I thought they fought hard but butchered their chances with some poor disposal. Not yet a top 4 side but improving rapidly.

this BH is no doubt the most sense you have posted here.

A/man perhaps you and others underestimated the value of Swad Districts' product Clancee Pearce.

anchorman wrote: Why would you make such a silly statement like that Swan other than to try to bait me!!!when have I ever said that I underestimate any of the Dockers players.Lets not forget that if it wasn't for Ross Lyon he may not be playing AFL right now and you guys would have an appreciation for him
He was sent back to get rid of his FAT ARSE as Lyon put it.
Never have I underestimated his value to our team.
Maybe the culture at Swans is not as good as you make out either.Walters,Pearce.Garlett and a couple of other who had fat problems.
But as far as the Dockers are concerned it is all sorted. We are more than happy with Walters and Pearce thank you very much.

Au contraire A/man. Walters was at the Dockers at the time he was short of fitness. Ditto Pearce. Similarly, Newman was at the Eagles. Garlett was not selected for what reasons A/man? Perhaps you can mention the others who had fat problems. Also, with respect to Pearce and Lyon one could suggest that it was the incompetence of the previous Freo coach to fully appreciate the qualities Pearce has. Mind you it would not be the first time that a Freo coach has not understood the value of some Freo players; I cite James Clement and Craig Callaghan as two examples of the above.

So rather than Swans having an adverse affect on those players when they were sent back to Swans we were able to get them back to peak fitness. I would also point out that Tony Notte is playing his best footy since being de-listed by the Eagles.

I agree with you about Clement but lets face it Craig Callaghan was just an ordinary ,but honest footballer a the best.
I think it says a bit about the WAFL level when you mention that Knotte is playing his best football ever for Swans. He was always an ordinary player at the best of times. But for him to be a star in the WAFL says nothing.
It is like Johnson the Eagles ,Melbourne discard. He is now considered the best player in the competition and the likely Sandover winner. Both players who struggled at he top level. The WAFL is littered with players who couldn't succeed at AFL level, but star at WAFL level.

You make some very silly comments & this is one of them, Callaghan was a terrific player at Freo in a sh1t team, he finished top 5 3 years in a row between 96-98 & was nomianted for AFL rising star in 95 & 96! Won SD F & B as an 18 year old but still was an ordinary player! FMD.. Damien Drum ruined him when he was coach!
