Talk of banning STT is ludicrous. You shouldn't get banned merely for expressing an opinion, no matter how strident it may be. The whole point of this site is to express opinions. If you don't like any given view, put up a counter argument. These notions that fans should only comment on their own site, or that Perth fans have no standing to criticise other clubs because of their lack of success are nonsense and designed to de-platform people rather than address the issues. Provided opinions are not personal attacks/abuse, and do not spill over into racist/homophobic, etc, content, there should be no ban on anyone. STT has not come close to posting anything that should attract a ban. For my part, I thought the banning of the Outer Seagull was harsh, and the ban on Grassy was outrageous. Sure, his posts were often incomprehensible, but they were also harmless and I think most people enjoyed trying to figure out what he was actually trying to say. I confess I don't know who TOS is or what he is supposed to have done.

I guess one of the things we need to consider when posters are banned is that we don't see all communications between OF Admin and the individual concerned. Given OFA seems to be a pretty fair and reasonable person, I think there would be all sorts of in-house warnings via email and requests for change before he/she takes action but you do make some valid points TN.

You are correct BC there are many communications and warnings given to those who have been banned either temporarily or permanently or just warnings given as anyone would expect a forum Admin to do. Most take a warning well while others do not and like to argue their point and some even issue a warning of their own along the lines of "Ok I will stop doing this if you also take action against him etc, etc......". I have been very tolerant and given a couple of people mentioned here plenty of warnings but they continued to transgress and there comes a tipping point. That's when they are banned permanently. I have become less tolerant lately toward those who seek to show a lack of respect and basically thumb their nose at the administration of Ozfooty. One warning and they are gone.

Ted, Grassy had a tendency to post whatever vague thoughts came into his head and it wasn't uncommon to see his name showing as the last post on a dozen or so threads. He also got into a lot of arguments that resulted in him complaining to me which I got sick of. I want to see people posting things worth reading as opposed to someone who has an opinion on everything and wants everyone to know about it. And anyone who thinks the banning of Grassy is outrageous or harsh, he has been banned from several forums in the past for the same reasons.

One last thing, please don't refer to anyone by their personal name. Everyone has a right to that privacy.

Fair enough, OFA. I wasn't aware that Grassy was complaining to you about other posters and I can see that might be tiresome. In terms of Grassy's posts we'll have to beg to differ, I found his multiple rambling comments on every conceivable topic kind of endearing. By the way, don't take what I said as a criticism of the way the site is run. I enjoy the site and don't envy you the role of moderator dealing with a range of posters who express their passion in a range of ways that might sometimes push the boundaries.

There is one thing Ted that STT put on one of his stupid posts about the religious beliefs of our president and crap about being a criminal or some horse shit, that's just not on mate.
Ozfooty removed it very quickly and I thank them for that, but thats the type of thing that should ban punters from this house in my opinion.

A bit off topic but never mind.
Good to see the West Perth section now has a Moderator.
One has been missing for a while. Well done Falcon.
