Hoping the new West Perth prez pushes Raponi's publicised idea of a Wafl match at the new stadium? West Perth against Swan Districts would be good to see. They are usually good games, with the added bonus that 2 Wafl clubs will be playing.

What do you think the crowd would be? It's a 60k stadium and even with some promotion you'd be lucky to get 10 -15k turn up and that would be an embarrassing look for the WAFL.

Simon Beaumont on 6PR last week said that 20k should be the target the number and it would be treated as a dry run before the Big Show hits town. He made some sense

SS. Brett's idea is to have an open day with, perhaps a gold coin admission fee and have a wafl game as a dry run to iron out any problems. Its also for people who cannot afford to go to the football to see the stadium. Was it Docklands that had problems for many months after it opened. Was it Channel Seven that said they should of held smaller events as dry runs. I think Brett's idea has merit.

Thanks Winger, that makes more sense as an open day and charity gold coin donation, on that basis and if marketed right it would attract a good crowd, I'd certainly turn up for a looksee, as you say for most punters that would be the only way they could afford to get inside the joint.

For a decent crowd it would need to see Swans involved in some fashion

That would make good sense to have 2 of the biggest WAFL clubs open the new stadium to iron out any kinks that may occur.

Did I miss something how did Swans get involved in this debate? Can't see the WAFL getting much of a look in, but credit to Raponi for airing it.
