Something off the WPFC site... Lets make it the biggest Foxtel crowd ever
I heard we have to beat 200 :cheer:

West Perth might have the WAFL bye this weekend but there is a grand final berth at stake next Tuesday night when the Falcons take on Tasmania's Western Storm in a semi-final clash at Subiaco's Patersons Stadium.

I suppose 2nd place in the Foxtel is worth a bit anyway... We will be playing the Eagles for the 100,000 if we win.. Yeh the Eagles really need it :(

Hopefully your right mate. I notice Williamstown are not affiliated with any AFL club so they are most probably stronger for it?
They are 4th on the ladder in the VFL (BOX HILL are top who we beat in last encounter)
They beat Aspley by 45 points in their last Foxtel cup game.Williamstown also won the 2011 Foxtel cup.
Bit of a match report from Williamstowns last Foxtel game to give an overview
www.afl.com.au/news/2014-05-20/foxtel-cu...illiamstown-v-aspley

But anyway on to more important things our game v Tassie Storm who beat West Adelaide in last game.. Worth reading the review of that game as gives some danger men and their ability..

www.afl.com.au/news/2014-04-29/foxtel-cu...aide-v-western-storm

I notice Storm beat Tigers 27.14 to 4.13 so they are pretty dominant in Tassie
Tigers are bottom of ladder though and no wins.. Storm 2nd on Tassie ladder
Clarence is on top.
Heres the Tas Football league page for a bit of a look

www.tasmanianstateleague.com.au/

I notice Tas has a state game v NEAFL  ON 21 June.. Strange.. 6 Storm players have been picked for that? 2nd on ladder so must be some. They they play us on Tuesday 24 June... That should help our cause as cant see their state reps backing up?

Saturday 21 June 2014, Blundstone Arena
11.15am Women’s TAS v QLD
2.00pm Tasmania v NEAFL
Both games livestreamed

By Rob Shaw THE spine of last season’s State League premiership-winning team will turn out for Tasmania in Saturday’s representative match against the NEAFL. Six of the players that helped South Launceston claim the flag will represent their new club Western Storm in coach Mathew Armstrong’s state side at Bellerive Oval.

A bit more about the Storm..and preview from last Foxtel win

THE Western Storm became the first Tasmanian team to win a Foxtel Cup game, triumphing 9.7 (61) to 8.9 (57) over reigning champion West Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

the club born out of the remnants of last year’s TSL premier South Launceston only kicked one point in the last quarter but held on for a historic victory against the SANFL outfit.

Coach Mitch Hills said he was proud of the way his side stood firm after establishing an early lead.

“I know it’s not pretty to watch but we just wanted to win and play a hard Tassie-style of footy,” Hills said.

Clarence, Launceston and Burnie have all fallen at the first hurdle in previous Foxtel Cup campaigns while representing Tasmania in the competition which features the best of the state leagues.

Former Brisbane Lion Bart McCulloch and fellow big man Hills dictated terms in the ruck and McCulloch and Shaun Collis both kicked two goals in the win.

West Adelaide was playing its third game in eight days and its side was almost unrecognisable from its regular senior outfit.

When I first heard West Adelaide was beaten by 3 POINTS! I was surprised but listening to Bill tonight West got fined for putting in a inferior side.. Gee and they only lost by 3 points? Where does that leave the Storm?

also 2 other points from my research revealed

West Adelaide was playing its third game in eight days and its side was almost unrecognisable from its regular senior outfit.
(How they got 3 games in 8 days has me mystified) where was their bye or didnt they have a bye?

6 Storm players are in the interstate side to meet NEAFL on Saturday.. So will they back up on Tuesday? Doubt it and if they do how long will they last.

My tip is a easy WPFC win.

Getting ahead of myself but WAFL WORLD on 91.3 spoke of this game in relation to EP.

It appears EP can still play any players who have played 5 games in the WAFL GF.
Yet the Foxtel Cup allows for 10 AFL players only in any team. So EP would have to find 12 WAFL players to make up the gap.

Know it is still a definate advantage but at least they have put a number on it
Maybe the WAFC should look at this rule as well.

The final is worth 100,00 to winner and 40,000 for runner up so well worth winning. Well for WPFC anyway :)

WP still have to defeat Storm next Tuesday and EP will have to beat Williamstown from the VFL to make it a WP V EP Game
