This will play out in the courts for the next 5+ years DD....unless WADA's decision is overturned which is highly unlikely players will be taking the club and related individuals to court and the media will froth on every moment of it....stage 2 of the saga starting now with stages 3,4 & 5 still to come

So they ( Bombers afl) decide to challenge, throw a million or so at the appeal. They win?, players cant sue the bombers/afl. Lets not forget they are still on full pay. They lose and the bombers/afl get hit with a helluva lot more than a mill.

Appealing to the Swiss court gee these players have been poorly advised I was starting to feel s bit sorry for them but I've come to the conclusion they are just dumb.

Are ALL players of the AFPA supportive of this action?

If so,you'd better give your Docker boys a call and ask them to withdraw their support.

I doubt it if anything they would be against it after all the AFPA are actually doing is condoning drug cheats by this course of action., have they shown any compassion to the players that had to play against a club that had a unfair advantage.

Grassy wrote: So who's driving this action?

Player Managers like Peter Jess or ESSENDON?

No response yet. It is paid & pushed by Essendon's insurers as they have to pay. Worth a $1m or to proceed as a win clears them.

LS I believe the appeal will be held in a Swiss court conducted in French. This means that all documentation would need to be translated into French. I would also think that there would be the equivalent of our SCs or QCs representing the players and their associated legal team. One would think that there would be no change left from a miilion dollars (particularly in view of the exchange rates at the moment).

The other curious thing to consider is that the players are not seeking an injunction that would have allowed them to play until the appeal was heard. One, perhaps the only logical, conclusion to be drawn from that lack of an injunction request is that they have very little likelihood of succeeding in their appeal.

I haven't heard any dissenters on this so far.As for the appeal itself,I honestly don't think this will go anywhere.More importantly, will someone ever out Dank in the stand? He's been blustering on about taking legal action, but he hasn't pushed that button just yet!I'm not really wondering as to why.

You know why there's been no players speak out about it, cast your mind back to the Hawks v Bombers game where Sam Mitchell did the syringe gesture he was dragged over the coals, there's been talk of heaps of sledging from players at other clubs towards Essendon players.

Dank has said he will have his day after everything is finalised. Probably will be paid a $1m by a TV channel in a tell all which wont reveal more than we already know.

Perhaps the Sunrise girls could do a short comedy skit in tribute to the Essendon FC and banned players? Apparently their first attempt at comedy with one of the Sex in the City stars went down like a lead balloon.
