STT you seem to be a supporter of the previous CEO and not an advocate for change. You would be in the minority. Marty was not a CEO's bootlace from what I have been told and he admitted himself he had no experience as a CEO when he arrived at the club and his former club didn't even consider him for the vacant CEO position.

That's not to say he doesn't have his strong points and I believe Perth recognized this and offered him to continue in a different role. We have attracted former champion players to come back to the club who were our last premiership players in Bob Shields, Brian Cook, Colin Lofts and Wim Rosbender. I could not be happier to see those faces back at the club and I think they have all had successful careers and now are in or near retirement and have come back to give something back. We should be grateful and I think one of our weaknesses over the past 30 or 40 years has been the absence of people with real football nous at board level and in the role of President.

Also we are in an important phase of Lathlain Park redevelopment and we need high quality people with various expertise to oversee the building of new facilities that will ensure our future for hopefully the next 100 years.

On the player front, players come and go no club is immune from that for whatever reasons but we have more coming in than going out and that is the main thing. There are a few handy names on the Ins list. Hold your horses before you pass judgement. In regards to Fraser McInness, did he end up at a rival club? No, he has decided to accept a place on the reserves list at the AFL club he has spent the last 7 or 8 years at.

That is a very uninformed opinion "from afar". I doubt any of us are aware of the work going on behind the scenes and I think we have recruited more players than any other so I hardly see we are sitting on our hands there.

As an outsider I think Perth footy club has done really well over the last 2 years. Should have played finals last year, has been proactive in recruiting and the photos of Lathlain posted yesterday looked fantastic. Those renos were probably paid for by WCE but hey, who cares as long as it gets done.

I'm with BC, from an outsiders perspective. I reckon Perth are starting to turn things around. Off field they are looking strong- and that should impact on-field in terms of recruiting. We've already seen it with Masten.

I'm with DD, BC and KFC there STD. If you can't get excited as a long suffering Demons supporter going into 2020 you need your pulse checked.

Have a look at the list Strono posted on Ins and Outs of where the ex-AFL delisted have ended up. It says to me its tough recruiting quality players to the WAFL. I reckon we've done well to try and bring players in.

This club has been a basket case on the field for yonks. There's a sign of life finally. Time to get off the couch, pack away the Pat Boone records, take off the slippers and smoking jacket and get behind the Demons.

My view of our recruits is this: Masten and Murphy proven WAFL players, but Murphy has a history of injuries. Will cover for Jones and Leggett, if he does leave. (I fear he will, got a feeling the arbitrator will be weak as piss).

Amos and East look to be reserves players. Peletier seems to have promise, but at his age, is more likely to have an impact in 2021.

The real key is Stubbs and Delahunty and they are an unknown quantity, coming from a lesser league. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Brenton Cooper came from a lesser comp and starred in the WAFL. On the other hand, Kristian Cary was a very good player at a lower level but only average in the WAFL. If those two step up to WAFL, and particularly if they kick goals, we are a chance of making finals.

The other names mentioned, Monaghan, Richardson and MacFarlane, do not appear on our list. Only MacFarlane would be in our best 22 if fit.

All up, I think we will be much the same as we were last year, 7-9 wins.

I don't think you are factoring in further development of young players like Zac Hill, Casey Nicholas etc..... Some of those boys are going to be stars in this competition.

I agree 9 wins MAX and yet again miss out. God I hope I'm wrong. Zac Hill, Casey N and Dan Horan all reasonable players but don't think they will lift to "Stars" in this competition like you hope. And for mine this is the problem with PFC, the potential stars play 1 year then leave, then maybe comeback for half a year then leave again or simply have a serious lack of desire to play for us.... Recent names come to mind in this category - Chester, Roe, Ninja, Leggett, Clem Smith, Gordy Narrier, Arnold Punch (where did he go), list could go on for a while.

td: you might fluke it with the recruits from the so called lesser competitions': Subi has had Heatley from country victoria; Sells from the VFA and Willet from QLD to name a few.
