I can't believe anyone on here can not remember playing neutral games at Subi, during 82 to possibly 85. I looked at the 82 Fixtures and there were 6 extra games @ Subi, EF v WP game where Mainwairing missed the set shot after the siren.

Yeah it did happen for a while Leedy from 1981 after the new 2 Tier Grandstand was built.
It was usually just 1 or 2 games a year (for SD anyway) as I can remember us playing Claremont (1984), EF in the wet (1982), EP (1987), P (1982, 1984, 1986), SF (1984), WP (1981, 1983, 1986) all at Subiaco Oval as neutral home and away games.
From memory it was to help repay costs for the new 2 Tier Stand or similar?

Yep, you are right Leedy, I remember seeing Perth play other teams other than $ at Subi Oval throughout the 80s. In fact my old man was what was called a WAFL member in those days and he went every week with either $ playing or a neutral game most weeks. I remember seeing Perth towel up EP there in 1988 when we just fell short of finals.
