Clint Jones was a standout he ran hard, and particularly his second half was outstanding.
6 wins and 2 losses is a great result and Subi up next.
Forward line is still really not functioning too well we had 26 extra inside 50’s.

Thought Sinclair, Payne, Edmonds and Leggett were very good.
Midfield goals Edmonds 2 and Leggett 1

Nearly shot ourselves in the foot with 8 points in the last quarter

Loved the way the boys were able to lift the intensity at the contested ball from the second half of the third quarter when we looked on the canvas and down for the count. Great to see the swarm and spread that's been missing the last two weeks come back in that second half led by Clint Jones who was everywhere.

I see Christian Martin lined up in our reserves last night. Tall promising key forward from Subi. Anyone know how he came to land at Lathlain midweek?

Christian Martin 20yo 194/79. Modest to average stats in ressies. Young enough to develop given the opportunity. Time will tell.
Leave it to the Subi scribes for info.

Martin is a prospect Smokey. Struggled to get a chance at Subi with Wheeler, Sokol, Stevenson, Halligan and Delahunty ahead of him last year as a forward and Mayo getting first chance this year so obviously thought he had more opportunity at Perth. There's plenty of upside around him as he's still young but could turn into a good pickup in the next year or two.

Looking at Perth yesterday in the context of them being premiership prospects over the next few years, they really do need a couple of good key forwards to cap off their goood midfield work. If Martin is good enough the opportunity will come, maybe sooner rather than later.

Yep you nailed it Mikeh. We have been screaming for it...a couple of good key forwards and a ruckman to dominate hitouts and be influential around the ground.

When you consider there were 3 forced changes yesterday and 2 players dropped I thought it was an excellent response. Marshall Jones did enough to keep his place, Kasey Nicholas did a good job filling in for Mitch Lague down back and I thought Mitch Browne and Daniel Horan were both good. .

So it will be interesting to see who makes way for Colledge and Bennell. Probably Ethan Hansen misses out.

The difference in the later half of the 3rd quarter and the 4th quarter was the quick movement from forward of centre and the midfield looking for and finding leading forwards rather than long bomb in hope every entry.

Yep spot on and it all started with, guess who, Clint Jones lowering his eyes and hitting Marshall Jones on the lead in that third quarter after multiple entries which were just kick and hope to the top of the square which Swans plucked off every time. That was after Zareth Roe celebrated the start of third quarter this week just like the last by dropping an absolute soda right in front. He's an excitement machine Zareth but if he held everything he went for he'd kick half a dozen every week. He'd have to be one of the best readers of the flight of the ball in the comp.

Was a very good fightback in the second half to get a much needed win. 6-2 looks a lot better than 5-3. Also this win puts us four games clear of Swans rather than two games if they would have one so I don't think we can underestimate the importance of this win.

With the forecast for rain on Saturday it will be interesting to see what happens at the selection table. Joshua Burke and Lennon Marlin played well in the reserves and must be close to getting a league call up. It was suggested that Burke comes in to allow Matthew Taylor to spend more time running through the midfield and this is something that I'd like to see. Marlin can play either down back or up forward so he offers some versatility during a game.

I liked the move to push Guy Langdon into the ruck and even though he only touched the ball seven times, he had 16 hitouts, seven tackles and kicked two goals. You can't really ask much more from a guy playing as a back up ruckman.

Christian Eyres got a heap of hitouts but only touched the ball three times. He along with some others in the team are looking tired and the bye in a couple of weeks comes at a pretty good time in my opinion.

Marshall Jones was solid without being spectacular and Ninja was quite in his first game back since suspension.

Zareth Roe has some x factor about him and with his ability to jump high can play taller than what his 185cm's would suggest.

Kristian Cary was better on the weekend and could have kicked a bag of four or five. From memory he plays well in the wet so probably keeps his spot this week.

Out of the guys that missed last week I think Colledge is the only one available for selection against Subiaco. He'd be straight back in for me and then I'd be looking at Marlin for Ethan Hansen.
