Yes I think all issues should be put to members - I have the following proposals:

(1) All home games should be played on the moon;
(2) Our colours should be salmon and cerise;
(3) We should change our name to the Turds.

I think the members should get the opportunity to hear the reasons behind my ideas.

Who said there was an offer on the table? I would expect if the EP pulled out and the Eagles made an approach to the Perth FC then the president would have to inform the members and let them have their say on any alignment.

Good to see Mann on the front foot, was suprised on his level of knowledge of the financials of the EPFC though. The actual viability of EP at the time of the alignment has been exaggerated by many including the EPFC board. In fact leaving Subi aside I think we where as healthy as anyone.

Is that because Bronte basically bankrolls the EPFC Larry? Maybe Bronte didn't want to keep dipping into his own pocket? Would EP survive without AHG behind it?

My recommendation for what it is worth would be that the Perth members who do not want an alignment (takeover) with the Eagles would be that you check your constitution and satisfy the requirements to call a special general meeting and modify your constitution such that an 80% vote in the affirmative of all members entitled to vote in the affirmative to align with a WA domiciled AFL team. Note 80% of all members to vote not just those who attend the general meeting.

The reason that the sponsorship income is so high at EPFC is due in large part to Bronte and his connections. EP did not need an alignment to survive. The addition of Dean Turner had already turned the football club around. It is run very professionally but this hasn't been the case in the past. My only guess is that Bronte is organising his exit strategy and wants the club in a strong position. He speaks of Armageddon in WAFL football which I think is over playing it somewhat. Either way PFC won't have an alignment so that is good for the competition if you can survive.

LB it seems to me to be particularly perverse to destroy the club as your exit strategy.

I would vote for an alignment under very strict circumstances. Circumstances that I am sure WCE would not agree to. I guess, I am sick of losing and would be prepared to at listen to what's on offer - if it ever happened.

One persons idea of saving the club may be different to the next person Swan. If the alignment ends next year the club will be fine, it will be financial and well supported. Any longer and it will be confined to history in my mind.
