As I said in an earlier post. Get Tendai and Colledge back to the club. DeBoer or Mitchell would be nice but I don't think we need both. Other more pressing areas that need addressing first like a backup ruckman, key forward and key defender.

I've been keeping my powder dry on these rumours for very good reason. As you say Mr AFL, the number one priority should be to get our own back, we've got one piece of the puzzle locked away in Clem Smith. Well done Clem, but the club has to do everything in its power to retain Tendai and College who by default are now Perth players. That is where it stands. It shouldn't be surprising to learn that Claremont have asked permission to speak to Tendai, no doubt SD have done also.

The job in front of Marty and Tyson is to sell the clubs plan and determination to end our premiership drought and to jump on board and play a big part.

So deBoer is out of the frame, it would be a bonus to snare Kane Mitchell. SD supporters have said Matt Rogers wants to return to Lathlain and might bring a couple of ex Swans team mates with him. No mention from the latest couple of press releases about Rogers or Hayden Busher who was rumoured to want to return to the club.

Yes, we get teased every year.
Unfortunately what will be will be.
We can only try to target these players we cannot make them come to Lathlain.
Do your best Dees that's all we can ask.
Claremont do have John O'Connell, Denis Marshall, Graham Moss, and other legends driving the Club together with the resources.
Unfortunately these are very smart men.
We are very silly if we don't take the opportunity to take Rogers and Busher back.
The "leadership group" cannot run the Club.

Im sorry to say the longer it drags on without a signature the more likely it is they are not returning.
Yep people will say they are hanging back to see if they get re-drafted well nothing stopping them from committing on the proviso if they are not taken by an AFL club.

TBH im not sure Busher brings anything to the table at this point in his career.
Personally i wouldnt bother with him,its not as though he has set the world on fire in his time at Claremont who like Perth have performed poorly.
Rogers id take imo he has improved his footy whilst at Swans and would come back a better player.

Sadly when it comes to making a good pitch to potential recruits finals is a subject that we can only tip toe around at least the likes of Claremont can sell potential finals to players, playing off in finals and GF's.

DF since when has the leadership group run the club? What do you mean by this?

Mr AFL, as far as I am aware the leadership group have always been consulted on matters concerning the playing squad, team rules etc. IMO this is a very necessary function as a communication line between players, coaches and football management.

The leadership group should not dictate to the club IMO. Their role should be the go between and liaison with the football department and be limited to recommendations only. Final decisions on critical matters should always be in the hands of the football department.

The leadership may be consulted on a recruitment matter and, for example, they may put the case that in their opinion the recruit may not fit in with the player group and/or may be a disruptive influence. However, the final decision should be with football management.
The leadership group do not run the club by any stretch of imagination.

They certainly had a say when Aaron Zucconi wanted to say goodbye to the players after pulling the pin after his 100th game after just a few games at the start of the season, and rightly so. They had every right to be ticked off and deny him that opportunity.

Yes, I agree DD.
But should they be having an influence on recruiting decisions?

I am certain that they would have had the full backing of the club from the Board down on that occasion.

Input for sure. No ultimate decision
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!
