I know his nephew. Out and out Eagle supporter. 38 years old. Wouldn't have seen 5 WAFL games, and doesn't seem to understand how significant these footy times were. Really blinded by the lights of the extended vfl that we now have.

Little does he know, that back in the 70s PFC was a powerhouse club not just of WA but Australia.

There you have it,38years old and look at the PFC history in that time,it has been more than forgettable,regardless of who his uncle is how could anyone sell the idea of following the PFC to a kid in the eighty's/ninety's,no premierships,very very few finals appearances and a number of wooden spoons.

By the way top effort Wim in a great team of it's time,is seen in the pig pen from time to time.

One of the many guys you could depend on to bring home the points for the Demons.Also played in one or 2 Ressies Premierships.Involved in a controversial incident when struck on the jaw on Easter Monday,1979 against Swan Districts,that resulted in Wim spending the rest of the season on the sidelines.

A Traumatic Blow for the Demons Ruckman and his presence was sorely missed,with PERTH sliding down the Laddet,the season after narrowly missing out on a 2nd Hat-trick by 2 points.

Returned to action in 1980, leading the club before retiring to concentrate on work,meaning a transfer to SYDNEY.Well deserved Recipient of Club Legend Status!

I recall one of the prominent umpires from the 70's pretty sure it was Ross Capes saying Wim was the one player that really worried him when he was umpiring!!

Nothing to bite about Smokey, I'm not sure why, maybe because he was a big guy and got fired up on field when a call went against him or got white line fever.

Maybe others heard the interview and may have an insight why

Whatever you are alluding to would not be my recollection.
