I thought the boys tried their guts out yesterday. The effort couldn't be faulted, they played with great intensity and really hit the contests hard but we made it hard for ourselves by constantly giving the ball back to FART who just killed us on the rebound with fantastic spread. Probably had at least four kicked against us through end to end runs where our boys never touched it. I thought Ballard absolutely killed us all day and looked a real quality player.

Just a suggestion to the colts coaching team. Maybe check the weather forecast before trying to play handball/switch intensive dry weather footy. Not sure that was on with a freakin lake running down the middle of the ground. Injuries didn't help but should have won that game and still be alive for the finals.

Thanks for your match summary Dazz. I couldn't get to the game yesterday..holed up with the dreaded lurgy.
Our team has tried their guts out all season. They cannot be faulted for their endeavour but the gap between our fairly low skill level and that of the rest of the comp is pretty wide.
Having said that, we have consistently shown that we can take it right up to other clubs but do falter at times with lapses in concentration that cost us games.
It does seem that we do have some talent to work with and I believe that Earl is the person to take them forward. The kids have got some good games under their belts now and it is up to the decision makers upstairs to provide the football department with all the resources they need to get the job done.
Strangely I will be holding my breath on this occasion as the alternative to adequate resources is untenable.

This sums up the season mostly for me. Effort was their but turnovers and poor decisions cost us goals. I reckon this has cost us at least 2-3 games this season when we were in with a chance of getting the points.
