Hi guys, it's mark here hope you're all well. This post has been brought to my attention from a former Perth team mate.. Time for a flag I appreciate the post and just wanted to set a few things straight. I'm very embarrassed about the article written as I feel I underachieved during my time in WAFL footy. I love the dees and still keep a close eye on the results and maintain contact with some great friends made at the club. Mad dog I haven't kicked 50 against brookton and please understand I can only play against sides put on the park against us.. I did struggle during my wafl footy due to lack of opportunity, confidence, injury & being thrown all over the ground as a bit player when playing league & never fulfilled my ability which frustrated me greatly as much as it has seemed to upset all of you. I would really appreciate it if you guys could just cut me some slack & stop under cutting me on the forum as I personally don't appreciate it. I know you're all frustrated with the state of the demons and I'm in the same boat but please keep supporting the club & blokes in positions like I was in because they all give there all even though results may not be showing, I know I gave it the best I could particularly last season and I know it wasn't good enough hence my dejection to the bush.

Well said Mark. I also thought you didn't get a fair run of it and if given a chance could have done something. Especially poignant when we never had a genuine full forward which I think you could have been given a go at. Anyway, best of luck and please don't take any of the crap mentioned on this forum to heart.

Just to back up Mark Deaves, I have known him indirectly through his footy this year, comes across as a pretty good bloke, and just last Sunday kicked 10 or so goals against a quality opponent, who's mid field got cut up, and Deaves got good supply, but he also created a few goals of his own. He is a nice kick, and this is just me, but maybe should not die wondering and have one more crack at WAFL

As a Royals supporter Mark, I enjoyed watching your strong leading straight kicking football. You had the versatility to go back when we needed you. I often wonder if you may have been better off staying at EP in a football sense. I respect your decision to move on. I would like your thoughts on playing in a winning final against EF then losing against Swans in front of a bumper crowd in 2010. Even though EP lost it must have been magic, would you rate it as your career highlight.
