A belated yet great obituary in today's West noted something about Roy Harper that I had long forgotton... he was awarded a bravery medal when as a police constable he disarmed a man who threatened him with a loaded two barrel shotgun in 1961.
That was typical of the no-nonsense, courageous attitude that he displayed both on & off the football field.
Vale Roy Harper .. a legend of the Perth Football Club and WAFL football.
