With all due respects lucifer how you could possibly have Barich, Porter, Kelly put up as club legends??? Having seen them all play at best you would say Barich & Kelly were serviceable while Porter was a deadset spud!
Then again maybe thats one of the many reasons why Perth are now heading into year 36 without any form of success whatsoever!

Always had a lot of respect for Cooky and enjoyed watching him playing albeit he was a pain in the arse when you played us. Ok played a lot of AFL but was brilliant there as well and should be taken into account.






Ross Young must get a Mention in Despatches for his service to the club and a player who always lead by example in a side that was struggling.

WPFC has a couple of legends teams and had a look for Perths selections.
Found this on Wiki which covers a lot of awards and a Legends team.
Maybe they should look at a later team similar to WPFC who have 2 teams of legends one recent and one that goes back a bit.
Good topic and never get sick of debates on these subjects.

Yeah Ken Inman would be a good choice. Terrific footballer and bloke. It saddens me that we often don't recognise our club legends until they are getting on a bit. Be a good time to look at someone who was part of that successful era.

Whats Steven Armstrong doing in that group and no Ross Young? Armstrong wouldnt carry Youngs bags

BH although I agree these were not the 'greatest' players IMO the club legend as other posters have stated is not only to be recognised for their achievements on the field but also to promote the club for the year they are selected. This includes attending functions and giving player support throughout the year whilst also being a focal point for mums and dads to give the juniors an idea of who used to play at the club. Someone like Barich due to his media expposure may also get more juniors down to the games rather than someone who is not as well known.

Unfortunately dog it would be a bit hard to be club legend of Perth if you were living in Melbourne now wouldnt it? Yes Youngy was a champ but there is no way be could be a club legend by nature of him living on the other side of Australia!

Lucifer, considering Rosco wasted the prime years of his footy career at PFC, I reckon the fella should be knighted by Marty Atkins et al for this Ghandi like sacrifice....regardless of his current mailing address. Yeah the fella won a few F&B and a Sandover at Perth, he seemed like the sort of fella who would of gladly recinded all these personal accolades, for some actual team success and finals footy.

Lucifer, glad to hear you and Benny used to kick the footy together as youngsters, sounds like all that running in and out of the bushes down by the train tracks, might be why Benny's life went pear shaped and off the 'rails' later as an adult!!
